She looks like someone folded up her face and put a button on it.

And now I want some kitty-nose buttons for my coat.

      Allein, a brilliant observation.

    I too want kitty-nose buttons!

Rani is lovely. You don’t need brains (or nose) when you’ve got heart.

      Will these do?

Eeee!!! The pink ones would go well on my purple coat 🙂

I’m so excited! (And laughing at myself.) Thank you for putting her on. Rani is excited too, or will be when she gets extra treats.
She actually had surgery to enlarge her nostrils a few years ago, they used to be even smaller and she wasn’t getting enough oxygen.

Poor baby. Glad she’s doing better now.

Rani is adorable, Cara! Thanks for sharing her with us!

That’s a shame! People shouldn’t breed animals for a particular look to the point where they can’t breathe! But she’s very adorable, and a pet with no brains is usually at least ten times more filled with love as compensation, so you’re very lucky to have her!

Rani is a typical Persian. I bred, raised and showed them for 25 years so have much experience in their looks and care. They’re bred for looks and not sense!! Too laid back and regal for needing brains as they know their looks will get them what they want if they just look beautiful. And it works!! 🙂 That personality is why I went with Persians when I was looking at getting a purebred kitty back in the early 1980’s. My cousin had shorthairs and they were all over the place — up on the fridge, on top of the cabinets, all over the kitchen counter, etc. NOPE, I don’t need that kind of activity in my home. Hence, the Perfect Laid Back Persian!! All love and cuddles. But the baths and blow drying are kind of a turn-off for some people but a necessity if you’re going to keep a Persian’s coat in top condition even if you aren’t showing it. They need combing (not brushing) several times a week to keep the tangles at bay. But seeing a beautifully groomed Persian is the ultimate reward.

The extensive grooming is why I could never have a long-haird cat. (Or dog.) I like my pets to be wash-and-go. 😉

    Precious smooshy face!

So cute! And what epic whiskers! Do they poke her in the eye?

You’d think but no. Mostly they’re too long. They got clipped when she had the surgery and grew back that wild.

She reminds me of a Chinese poobah – very regal.

    I can’t believe I’m the first to ask, but….

Rani has no nose?? How does she smell? ?

    • allein ? November 3, 2017 / 11:56 pm

She smells like a cat, I assume. 😛

If this were Vaudeville the answer would be “Terrible!” But it wouldn’t be true.
