They’re Baaaa-aaaack!

Lynx family returns to Alaska porch

Last October, we met a family of lynx who visited a couple’s porch in Alaska. Apparently the cats had a wonderful time, because…

Yee-up, the whole family came back to play on the now snow-covered porch.

That is amazing! I would not sweep/shovel that porch so i could keep those pawsome footy prints for as long as possible.

Sorry off topic, but do any of you peeps have a ‘water fountain’ for your cat to drink from? I am trying to encourage Ol flappy lips to drink more water, he prefers after shower bathtub licking and now only wants just poured/aerated tap water.
    Any thoughts?

My mom got one similar to this for the cats (they also have one for dry food) for when they’re away, but they just made a mess with the water and it got gross (they’d get food in the dish) so I dumped it when I was babysitting once and we just put out an extra bowl of water in case I don’t get over there.

My cats don’t need a fountain they have me LOL! Actually it’s just one spoiled girl that jumps on the bathroom sink and asks (loudly) for the faucet to be turned on, the other four just drink from a bowl on the floor like normal cats.

I currently use a Drinkwell Pagoda ceramic fountain for my two cats. You will need to change the charcoal filter about every month. The only thing about this model is that the burbling fountain noise can be quite loud at night in a small house. I’ve also in the past had a plastic model but found the ceramic easier to scrub clean.

Thank you for the feedback– I just purchased (Amazon.ca through portal here so Mike gets some moula) the ‘Cadillac’ of fountains. I have no idea if this will work and it may be a very expensive flop but heck, he’s my buddy and I just want him to be comfortable in his final days.

From my personal experience, I recommend using a Brita pitcher or some other filtered water to fill it with. That will keep it from getting dirty as quickly.

Thanks Kodalai, I do have the brita and use that all the time but he is preferring the water to be aerated from the tap. I got the more ‘Bellagio style’ over the ‘Trevi Fountain’ model as I am hoping this aerates it more.

I have all-metal or all-ceramic fountains for my herd so they don’t get kitty acne. Pioneer Pet makes a nice range of sizes and shapes. I add water every day, then once a week, the fountain(s) go through the dishwasher. Some of the cats still want to drink out of the tap, naturally, but a fountain eases the inconvenience a lot.

Love the big floppy slippers on the cats!

I am also baaaack (though not nearly as cute as the kitties)
For the time being my desktop works (big thanks to tech forums) so hopefully I can skip the computer shop and several weeks’ absence from here.

I would like to thank JenDeyan for offering me help at these difficult times!
    I really appreciate it.

        Thank you 🙂
I have just read your appendix issue 🙁 I hope you are on the mend now.

These lynxes are killing me! They look like little old men with lots of ear hair, but even mama plays like a baby.

They are fantastically ‘badass looking’ in my books and the noogies that were delivered!
