And now I want a penguin.
The photographs of the Finnish forest animals are astonishing. Judging by the expressions on the the foxes’ faces, the photographer must be part fox.
The one barista at Starbucks is still working on making a perfect heart in my drink. I think he needs to step it up!
(Granted, I get hot chocolate, not lattes, so he doesn’t have a lot to work with, foam-wise. But still.)

These look like captive penguins to me. If you look closely, you’ll see that each flipper has different sequences of colored beads around a ziptie. By marking each bird with a different color sequence, it’s possible for researchers to track individuals by noting the sequence of the color bands. It also allows zoo keepers to track how much each individual is eating and keep them healthy or get them medical attention if they seem sick.
p.s. I don’t handle penguins, but I do band other small wild birds to help track them. Only 1 tiny lightweight metal aluminum numbered band put on the birds leg. Helps to track migration, winter survivalship, use of resources, etc.
That little kitten with the extra digits should be the envy of all other kittens – he has thumbs, for pity’s sake – he can probably open his own can of food!
All of these are adorable, of course. Love the penguins and that officer should be added to the Men of Cutetropolis calendar.
Yes, definitely men of cute!! And this happened next county from where I live and work! It’s nice to see good news from around here getting out there. Too frequently it’s sad or embarrassing.
That last clip reminds me of when I got to meet up close with some penguins at the Tampa Aquarium a few years ago. They’re not as smooth to the touch as you might think they are but they like petting just as much as the guy in the clip here seems to.
