Loving all the new babies. I have to be honest that I was expecting a different name with the headline about a “Kingly” name, baby – like Elvis.
And such a silly pom pom, wish any of my dogs had been that patient and relaxed with being bathed. They all tried to be escapees.
I used to bathe Pablo in the sink because he would escape only to find himself on the counter with nowhere to go. ?
Baby flamingo ready for takeoff is too cute for a Monday morning.
I love the orangutan Madonna and Child pictures.
And they’re at my local zoo! We’re definitely going to go see them as soon as we can, probably in about 10 days when my workload lightens up from a couple of big rush jobs. Orangutans are such wonderful animals!
You must greet them for me as well. What a gorgeous mom and baby.
๐ I love that usage!
I love poms so much, I still miss my Jeannie even after 40 years.
Thanks for posting the adorable links, and the sad parrot one, too. The rescue place where I got my Soph had about ten big birds (macaws, cockatoos, etc.) that had stripped their feathers off from the neck down, all in separate cages. The sight was so awful it made me feel that people shouldn’t be allowed to keep these bigger birds. I know some folks manage it, but it seems like most can’t, even if they want to. Sorry for the downer…
King Louie is of course an adorable name for that little pengwing, but it also reminded me of the “I Wanna Be Like You” clip from “Jungle Book,” which I went and watched, and which I can very much recommend on a rainy Monday!
Awww, Kansas City gave a nod to the penguin’s St. Louis origin with the name Louie! We love you, KC!
Before I read the flamingo story, I imagined that the little one hatched that way. “Tada! Here I am, world!”
If s/he did, that would be awesome!
Loved all the birdies, and giggled at the fabulous hairstyles of the goggie, but Cat Team 7 wins today! Great job, people. The video at the bottom of the page was super sweet–especially watching one kitten fall asleep in the hoomin’s arms.
Great article about the Parrot Guru Guy. Parrots are tough pets for many. There are times when I would have liked having someone stop by to provide support and advice.
