Fiona’s official birthday was last Saturday, so that the Cincinnati Zoo could throw a big party with lots of cake and ice cream for the crowds of Fiona-tics who came to cheer her amazing first year. Here’s to many more, Fiona! (Via Lois M.)

Hippy Birthday!
Fiona really came along at the right time, didn’t she? She gave us all something so (relatively) small and vulnerable to cheer on and be proud of! The Cincinnati Zoo hippo staff also should be proud of the way they all pulled together to raise her from such a vulnerable preemie to the lovely, round, blorpy, double-chinned beauty she is today!
