A child’s plea produces a tweetstorm — and a puppy

Brendan Greeley is a Very Smart Economist who writes Very Smart Articles for Very Smart Newspapers. He also has a Very Smart Daughter who wanted a puppy. So she did a Very Smart Thing:

And a Very Smart Programmer was inspired to write a Very Clever Program to hack the Very Smart Economist’s favorite website as well:

But, as Greeley’s daughter demonstrated, sometimes to get things done you just have to come right out and say it:

And so the Very Nice Economist got his Very Determined Daughter a Very Playful Puppy, along with generous donations to the ASPCA.

And now, meet JK Rowling Greeley, who’s a Very Good Boy.

    In my humble opinion no child should grow up without a pet, so I’m very glad the little girl got her puppy.

    The conversations on this Twitter thread are pretty amusing. But it’s probably not surprising given his bio: Wife, children, dog AND NOW EVIDENTLY A DAMN PUPPY, TOO.

    Aaahhh, I really needed a story of spiraling positivity this morning. People use the internet to get a family a pet, a puppy a home, and a shelter some no-doubt-badly-needed dough!
