When we place two dogs side by side, we are better able to observe the phenomenon known as Periodic Oscillating Observable Tail Synchronicity, or POOTS. This is the tendency of dogs who do not share a common WPM (wag per minute) rate to phase in and out of sync at random intervals.
Whoever sent this, thank you!
LOL! Like when two people try to work a double dutch jump rope.
You beat me to it. ?
… and now that I have that earworm in my head:
The times they were not in sync reminded me of double jump rope. Anyone else remember that from school?
I think in my neighborhood it was called Double Dutch. Very hard!
Hahahahaha Hahahahaha
I love this planet.
Too funny!! I loved it when they were doing synchronized circles with their tales. Almost had me on the floor with that one. And Mike’s story – classic, and the term POOTS?? Just too much.
Reminds me of the windshield wipers on the bus I went to high school in. But a LOT more fun.
Why?
Why not?
Almost looks like the tails have a mind of their own. Pups looked like they were sleeping.
Sometimes it seems like they were doing it deliberately.

Love it! I remember (trying) to do double-dutch with Amanda and Jane back in the day. It is hard to do.
We stuck with the single rope when I was a kid. All I could do was jump.
Same here – I wasn’t even all that good at that! I was OK once I had jumped in, but couldn’t do anything fancy.
I really need to pay more attention to the tags on this site.
