        Just trying to do two days worth of work in one day because it’s the first week of the fiscal month which is always extra fun when the Monday is a holiday and also trying to ignore the million emails I have from auditors that I don’t have time to deal with right now.

        Brushing a goat sounds quite relaxing.

          I always try to work on those days. it just doesn’t feel worth the extra day sometimes and I’d rather work when no one else is there, no traffic, and I get a vacation day when I want

            Well, technically I could have done some work over the weekend (not Monday, since I wasn’t home all day, but the data I need would have been available on Sunday) since I just inherited my coworker’s laptop when he left a couple weeks ago, so now I can work from home if necessary. But I don’t want to make a habit of that. Also, I took vacation days on Thursday and Friday and I didn’t want to think about work for five days (and I left the laptop locked in my drawer at work). Some of the stuff that normally would be due today can wait until tomorrow. (Extra bonus fun points: before he left my coworker rewrote some of the reporting I run, and while he’s been running them in parallel for the past few months, and I ran them last month to test that I got the same results, I get to do the first live run this month and he’s not here to help me make sure it’s good.)
