Well he can’t go out in the rain, he might catch a cold or something!

This dog is an evil genius.

Oh my gosh! I love this!! So glad it’s not my house though. But look–there’s a watering can next to the side table so clearly the human transports water, why can’t the dog?!

Except for the lamp and the rugs, one of which looks like a Water Hog mat, that room looks reasonably salvageable. Leather couch, tile floor. Personally I think this dog is a genius.

There are some really mean comments on imgur; I recommend folks here don’t read them. Whenever my pets damaged something, my first thought was to make sure the pet was safe, then to fix whatever I could, and then to figure out what I could do to prevent it happening again. It never occurred to me to blame the pet for thinking like a dog or cat, and not like a human homeowner.

*One* of the comments was pretty funny, though: “We are Farmer’s—dum da dum da dum dum dum.”

Oh, my, goodness, I so want to see that Farmer’s ad now…

Okay, so I had to look. One of the comments says “So this person just first gets his phone out, and makes a picture while his wallpaper and house gets drenched. Who does that?”

Well…I probably would, if my phone was handy (maybe not if I had to go into another room or something to get it). Everything’s already wet. A few more seconds to take a picture isn’t going to make much difference.

I would too. We could turn the question around – who WOULDN’T do that?

          • debg July 20, 2018 / 6:49 pm

Exactly. Puppers is fine, and the only way to deal with this situation is to find the funny in it.

        • Ricky's Mom July 20, 2018 / 4:42 pm

I hope I’d have the wit to take the picture first. It’s not like the dog is in danger—that would be a different matter.

        • Smartypants July 21, 2018 / 7:58 am

I agree! My first thought was “it’s not gonna get any wetter” – you’ve got to laugh while you can.

      Thanks for the warning, RM!

      Thanks, Ricky’s Mom.

On “Cats, Beavers, and Ducks” they posted two pics taken before this one, so the owner watched the entire escapade. Obviously enjoyed it all without worrying about the house. Might be an enclosed porch or sunroom.

Obviously he wanted an indoor water park.

  6. Faye July 20, 2018 / 3:02 pm

He CAN always get what he wants.

    Genius.

Oh bad doggie, yet I am laughing! Good to laugh because yesterday my hometown of Marshalltown, Iowa was hit by an —-ing big tornado, which caused MAJOR damage. My oldest sister still lives there. She and her husband and their home are ok, but still without power. The building my Dad worked in for 20+ years is flattened; the spire on the beautiful, 150-year-old courthouse, was toppled. One bright spot is that Zeno’s Pizza, a local landmark for decades, survived; I went to many a birthday pizza party there as a kid!

    • Ricky's Mom July 20, 2018 / 6:39 pm

I am glad it is buildings, and not your family, who are damaged. I hope your sister and BIL have power again soon.

    • debg July 20, 2018 / 6:51 pm

So very sorry, Amyliz. What a horrifying event. Hope everything gets turned back on soon.

      • Amyliz July 20, 2018 / 8:11 pm

Yes, although the damage to property is overwhelming (sad to see familiar landmarks hit) it is amazing there were no fatalities or even major injuries!

        • fkaWaldenPond July 20, 2018 / 10:23 pm

That must have been terrifying for your sister and her family. I am glad she is well but sorry to read about the building destruction. Architecture, landmarks are the fabric of communities. Rebuild, restoring does help with healing.

Oh ya and this puppish dragging in the sprinkler head image has cracked me up all day. 😀
