Like other marsupials, wombats spend a lot of time in the pouch when they’re young — but we don’t often get a look at what goes on in there. Is it cramped? Is there wifi? Who knows? Thankfully, reader Faye shares this video of what goes on inside pouches both real and artificial.

Yay! Cuteness has been restored to Cutetropolis!
Did I, or did I not, see a blue blankie in that first view inside the mommy wombat’s pouch?
I have developed quite a pooched out belly at my age. Does that get me a baby Wombatses?
Thank Mike!
Is there WiFi ?
Those sweet little faces have killt me.
Anybody else wince when they pulled on that teat?
oh, yeah…
yes indeed
Gah! In the “you might also enjoy…” feed is my Wombat Kitty! I have updates to submit to our Mr. NTMTOM, but I need to contact Wombat Kitty’s mommy for permissions for her pictures. [Note to self: get on that!] I can’t believe how hard it has been to let go of him. Every time I see a picture I think of how sweet he was/is and how worried I was about him. I just want to hold and snorgle him again. I don’t think I could ever be a foster home for any pet, much as I’d like to be. I think, in the end, they’d all stay with me. To those of you who are pet fosters, you have my admiration and gratitude.
