The Butterfly Effect

“At last! It’s a perfect specimen of a papilius aquariamus, better known as the Tank-Clinging Butterfly! Now my collection is complete! (Oh, I don’t actually catch them, I just memorize them. Gives me something to do to pass the time down here.)”

From sender-inners AJ and Andrew Y., a video from the Oregon Zoo of a chance encounter between young harbor seal Kaya and a butterfly.

This made me tear up; not sure why. It’s beautiful and remarkable, that’s for sure.

      Such a sweet little girl! (I’m guessing Kaya’s a girl name…)

One of the comments on youtube was something like ‘just like humans she has to poke the glass.’ 🙂

I was so mesmerized by her intent gaze that I didn’t realize she was tapping the glass!
