Elephants squish squash at the Oregon Zoo!
The Oregon Zoo kicked off its Halloween festivities with the Squishing of the Squash event, the annual tradition in which over 5,000 people turn up to see the zoo’s herd of six Asian elephants turned loose on the biggest, squishiest pumpkins the zoo could find, which the pachyderms promptly pounded into monster mash.

The best part is the excitement of the crowd. Must be a long-time favorite event at the Oregon Zoo.
That is fun, also seeing the ‘phants almost running to the pumpkins.
As long as they don’t figure out a way to launch those puppies…
Brings back happy memories of the Los Angeles Zoo’s Pumpkin Stomp’n’Chomp. My then-boyfriend and I always got to the zoo that day.
I just like the phrase “squish squash.”
I love seeing animals engage in any type of ‘enrichment activity.’
