Family Resemblance

“And this is my great-great-great-great-grandfather Cyrus Pemberton McOverbite, the source of our family fortune. Arriving in New York in 1893 with nothing but the fur on his back, he became an itinerant toothpick sharpener before launching the chain of discount dentist offices that would bear his name.”

Surely you’ve heard of McOverbite’s Drill & Fill.

I got to the McOverbite’s next to McDonalds, Arne. (Via ChillWildlife on Instagram.)

I thought I was crazy because I thought it had been used previously and I wasn’t, it was also used on Heir of the Dog. Guess this pooch is old money with both great-great-great, etc. grandfathers running business empires.

Oooops! I thought it looked familiar too! (looking embarrassed)

Edit: And the picture in this post is a digitally-altered version of the picture used in “Heir of the Dog,” something I should have spotted.

That’s okay, you get so many submissions it’s easy to miss dupes. And I thought grandpa’s face looked weirdly pixilated but just chalked it up to my eyes having a bad day.

No problem, NTMTOM, the fact that you came up with a new story , shows what a wit you are. However, I will avoid that discount ( key word here) dental chain, if that’s how one ends up looking.

And I don’t even remember submitting it. It’s dated April 2017 and I can’t recall what I did yesterday.
