That’s funny; on my way to work this morning I was listening to a Planet Money episode about the World Series of Poker.

I’m guessing this guy wouldn’t get too far.

Oh, I don’t know … I would give him ALL the chips. 🙂

The inspiration for Lady Gaga’s hit ‘Pupper Face.’

      I would listen to that.

Thanks for the ear worm but that’s okay, I’m one of the few who’ll actually admit to liking that song. It’s got a good beat and you can dance to it.

Oh boy! How many here are old enough to remember that from American Bandstand? I remember it being pronounced as a serious evaluation/rating.

          Me. Old enough to remember!

Me, too. And in my area, Soul Train came on right after A.B.

I went to Bandstand when it was new with Bob Horn before It went
Hollywood with Dick Clark. Went once with him, too. Oh, those were
the days for teenagers. The fifties in Philly were phabulous. Oh, and
this pupper looks like my Phred. *snif* go, birds! ?

Hey, impressive! I never went but I certainly watched it every day when I got home from school. And I danced – the newel post was my partner! And I spent hours in my room lip-synching to songs on my little 45 record player. I especially loved learning the B sides to popular songs. Nerd much?

The hover text bringing it home again. We have one of the ‘Dogs Playing Poker’ paintings in our home for years when I was a kid.

Me too. My Dad loved those.

        Hey, that’s an American classic.
