We had swans on the lake at school. They’d never give you a hug.

      Nor play “Amazing Grace”.

      I don’t see anything. 🙁

It wouldn’t accept the link I had… did it come through on the next post, Allein?

        • allein ? January 13, 2019 / 1:30 pm

          Yes, it did.

I should have left it for you, Allein! You’re the expert 😉

Swans are gorgeous but seemingly violent and nasty? But apparently, if you behave as they require, you get what seems like an AMAZING hug.

    • debg January 13, 2019 / 3:01 pm

They are VERY violent. I’ve been bitten while trying to feed them bread.

When I was a kid, my cousins and I were playing at the end of the dock and a bunch of swans swam up, hoping for handouts (i.e. more fingers to bite). My brother and other cousins lured the swans between us and the land, cutting us off on the end of the dock. There was no way I was going to risk walking or even running past them when they were expecting bread. Their taste for human flesh might have led to more bites.

Where is the Cutetropolis Concert Hall? While I’m not a fan of bagpipes, I probably wouldn’t mind a Swanpipe band, solo.

Are we quite sure that swan hasn’t shed its mortal coil? Perhaps that swan has passed on. It might be a former swan. I’ve known some swans in my time – they aren’t ones for hugs and whatnot.

Do you mean it may have joined the choir eternal? It could be an ex-swan? It’s not merely pining for the fjords?

      • Birdcage January 13, 2019 / 5:42 pm

Could be just shagged out after a prolonged squawk.
OR, and I’m just speculating here, it could be bereft of life.
        Whose to know ….

I dunno, I’ve known a lot of swans in my day, and they all prefer to keep on a lady’s neck. I’m guessing he’s just resting. Beautiful plumage, the swan.

          Ded.

I believe you’re trying to say they’ve performed their Swan Song? (I hate that I missed this yesterday – I didn’t get to go online ’til very late in the day and I’m still catching up.

I was curious the see if this was typical swan behavior. So I googled “swan hug” —- let’s just say that there are *ahem* “devices” that use that name…… ?

Jan, perhaps a more…emphatic…warning next time.
Great. I wonder what kinds of ads I’ll be bombarded with now.
      ?

      • Jan B. January 13, 2019 / 8:58 pm

        Lol! Sorry! ?

    • Kar January 13, 2019 / 7:48 pm

Oh come on, now I HAD to google that.

    • Blue Footed Booby January 14, 2019 / 9:38 am

Funny enough, the first block of results is actual swans.

    • Juno January 14, 2019 / 10:18 am

      Wow. A swan/rabbit hybrid.

      • Emsthemonster January 14, 2019 / 11:25 am

        Is that a swanny?

  7. Ricky's Mom January 13, 2019 / 5:36 pm

I would certainly be happy to attend this concert. I don’t personally require a swan hug (whatever that may be—I’m not looking it up), any more than I need to learn to play bagpipes. 🙂

That dress may be considered ‘art’ but it is still hideous. Personally I prefer my feathers to be on birds. ?

Yikes, looks like he’s escaped from the castle!

    I’ve heard they can break a man’s arm…
