What kinda scam you tryin’ to pull on us, pal? My friend here, he says that if we show up and pose for your cutesy little blog we’d get free eats, and I’m thinkin’ that means a nice salad, maybe some carrots. And then we get here and all we get is chicken feed!

They do look outraged.
Any second now it’s going to be Caerbannog all over again…
I think it would be a better world if we had to fear rabbits.
The disapproval levels are off the scale!
I’d be disapproving too, bunbuns.
If I was the inviter, I’d back away slowly and find some lovely greens, stat. These bun buns are ready to revolt.
I just finished cleaning and drying fresh greens for my bunnehs. Wish I could share some with these two disappointed bunnehs. Corn and bird seed are not the best for them anyway. Wild buns eat what they can find but domestic bunnehs just need fresh greens, hay, occasional fruit treats and small amounts of timothy pellets.
Luv Bunny knows her bunny stuff! š
I try to do right for my bunneh bebes. Some pet store employees arenāt always thrilled with me. If I see a customer being advised to buy the so called ābunny foodā by name brands that contain seeds and dried fruits, I usually will tell the customer what I buy and what isnāt good for their pet. Then I always refer them to the House Rabbit Society web site. Everytime they end up buying the better food and putting the ā junkā stuff back.
That’s so good to hear. Our advice on pet care isn’t always well received but darn it, isn’t the idea to give our pets optimal consideration rather than “whatever”?? I once suggested that a fellow should reconsider his dog riding on top of the load in his half-ton. Not in the empty truck box which is somewhat safer, but on top of the load!! Needless to say I was told that it was none of my business. Animal welfare is all of our businesses. I know, clumsy wording, but you get the idea!!
I agree, animals (especially our pets) depend on us and trust us, so we should look out for their welfare. It can be a fine line between being ānone of our business ā to trying to suggest a healthier/safer way of dealing with a pet. And the way so many people just react in angry ways, it may also not be safe, sad to say.
Brava, Luv Bunny – I do the same. The House Rabbit Society is chock-a-block full of good information on care, feeding, medical issues.
My Clemmie didn’t come running for her night time treat last night – I immediately gave her Critical Care mixed with some baby food – pumpkin – with a syringe and this morning she was her good old self. I never wait around to see if it might get better on its own – not sure it ever does. And Critical Care is full of good stuff so it can’t hurt to give it in case.
Murray, what section would I find the Critical Care – the cat area? So far, Iāve usually been lucky when a bunneh gets that way of just using a thin syringe filled with water, to put down the throat. I give 4 syringes of water. That usually gets their poops going. A few times, Iāve had to go to the vet and get meds.
I go to a place that has bunny stuff all in one place – you might have to order it online since regular pet stores don’t seem to carry it. Sometimes the bun will eat it without need of a syringe, just putting it down in a dish. I haven’t been that lucky. I often give water, too, one of those little medical syringes. the ones I use for feeding are bigger, holding a tablespoon, maybe a bit less. The baby food helps create an slurry that’s easier to syphon up.
Better hope these aren’t Easter Bunny “elves”.
I would not mess with those faces.
