Wombats in the House

For wombat joeys Yarra and Adelaide, their foster home is one gigantic toy box, full of cupboards to investigate, a broom to knock over, and baskets full of little objects to pick up and carry around.

How is one supposed to get anything done with these cuties getting into things. Forget the work and play with them.

Wombat Wednesdays are the best. They look like they’re having so much fun, I wanna join in … but I have to work 🙁

Just checked my cupboards. No wombats.
Could wombats be considered a therapy animal?

Therapy wombats…just keep them on a leash if you take them on a plane. The prospect of free-range wombats in the cockpit is a terrifying one.

That was simply perfect. Baby wombats never disappoint.

They’re so perfectly shaped! There’s something very aesthetically pleasing about them.

Most Cutetropolitans probably know that the Victorian artist and poet D G Rossetti kept a pet wombat at his home in Chelsea. From a letter to his sister Christina, who also mentioned a wombat in her poem ‘Goblin Market’:

‘Oh how the family affections combat
Within this heart, and each hour
      flings a bomb at
My burning soul! Neither from owl nor
      from bat
Can peace be gained until I clasp
      my wombat.’

A sentiment with which I’m sure we can all agree. CLASP ALL THE WOMBATS!
