Scenes like the one behind me play out every day: Normal, healthy humans reduced to infantile babbling in the presence of cute dogs, a condition known as puppy brain. One moment they’re competent dignified adults, and the next they’re all oo’s a widdle fuzzum-wuzzim snookity-poo? But with your support of the Coalition to Fight Puppy Brain, we can return these people to their normal, straight-laced, miserable selves. Please give generously.

Serious cat is serious.
Pup on the other hand…
Cat is all “I’m gonna puke.”
Kitty has some bunny-level disapproval going on there.
How do cats manage to nail that look of disgust so well??!! Practice probably. And the fact that its their true feelings ha ha!
Me thinks kitty protest too much. Maybe a little jealous of the attention dogo is getting that should by all rights and privileges belong to him?? I am cat, you MUST worship me and no one else.
That cat is me at work. (I love Goldies though)
I have a co-worker who often makes complaints about my team and me to the management behind my back. Or if someone has made a mistake he tries to suggest it was made by me or some of us, even when it is obvious it was someone from his team. So whenever it happens, he comes to our office and starts to compliment us on our looks in a syrupy sweet way. It works with some of my naive team-mates but I usually react like the kitty in the picture. 🙂
Your coworker is not only deceitful and smarmy but probably un-PC… I mean really? Complimenting someone’s looks? 😒
Is mgmt aware of his tactic? Have you
played him back by thanking him in gooey
fashion for his compliment? Is he at the same
level as you? So many questions! I am
curious as to how you handle him.
Here PC does not really play a role. I am a single woman = pariah so unless someone rapes me, no action will be taken. The management is aware of his tricks and also knows him pretty well, I think he is related to someone important. He is slightly above me in the company hierarchy. I am more or less respected for the work I do, while he has a “shop-window” position. It sounds good while in reality he doesn’t do anything meaningful.
What he is craving for is attention and recognition. Guess what he can never get from me 🙂
I think this hurts him a lot more than a report to our boss.
