This patient cat has a Chicken McNugget who thinks she’s her mama, and keeps pecking around her looking for a place to warm its feathers. Fast forward to a few weeks later, and the now-growing chicken has found a new favorite place to roost.
(Note, the video rather oddly repeats the same footage twice, so I’ve decided to stop in the middle. But you can always click the YouTube logo and watch it again and again (and again and again).
Imprinting at its finest!
No squishy da chicky.
Hahahahaha! ๐
Chicken McNugget? Where’s the barbecute sauce?
What a cheeky chick!
Chicks Ahoy! (ala Esther Friesner)
You couldnโt get sweeter than these two. The chick is bound and determined to get under her Mom, where she knows sheโs supposed to be. Her mom, mysteriously, does not seem to grasp what the proper order of things is. I love how tireless the chick is and how accepting – whatever! – the cat is.
“Is that a chicken on your head or are you just glad to see me? ๐ค๐ฅ๐ฃ
Thought I’d throw the link to that documentary in the comments. You can see clips of me with the kids (many years ago when we were all younger). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W0UcesaSBHg&feature=youtu.be&fbclid=IwAR3E0e_7yN8m8jeHTFSTEkpeXlzAyAFWX_RhozPCnvhqbpleoaS1t02xElc
Thanks for the link, Patty! It is absolutely eye-opening about how messed up the system is. I may actually use it for discussion in my upper level ESL classes. Hope all is running relatively smoothly these days.
Another laugh out loud til you cry submish. That is one patient cat, even though there are a few times when s/he looks at the camera like ‘uhhh, can ya help me out here?? Please?????” And when the chick was under the back legs, unbelievable! Then the human comes and moves the cat’s leg, ded.
The chick falling asleep at 0.52!
I loved watching the little head droop and then bounce back up. I’m not sleepy, Mom!
That cat has the patience of a saint! And chickie look so contented.
Kitty better watch out for white cracky goo balls.
I could not figure out what white cracky goo balls were until I read this. Thank you.
I watched this the first time on my phone with no sound. I just watched it on my desktop with sound. THE CHEEPING!!! Plus at the end when the chick is now I guess an adolescent and sitting on the cats head, the cat is purring! This is one of my favorite movies.
Apparently this is a quail chick. Now I have even more questions โฆ
Since there is no link for anyone confused white cracky goo balls are eggs. And if that is a hen, kitty HAD better look out.
That is an extremely patient cat. I’ve have slapped the little fluff off at the second “Dude! Right in the ear!”
Did anyone else notice it’s two different cats? The one being used as a roost has different paws.
Good catch! I never would’ve spotted that but I think you’re absolutely right. Probably why the video seemed to repeat itself.
