I’ve seen pictures of them before but didn’t know what they called. Bat-eared Fox. I should have been able to figure that one out.

I can’t help but think of them as the Fennec Fox’s camouflage-wearing country cousin.

Awesome links today. Love the “guard” dog pictures. Number 3 on the list just killed me. I think the dog on sign is bigger than the actual dog, lol. So much cute!! What a great way to start out hump day.

I saw that window full of cats and my ‘hoarding/crazy cat lady’ alarm went off.
And yes, that farmer needs to rebrand his rice as “kitty kawaii” approved.

Do most people really find those sphynx cats to be ugly?? I think they’re cute as the dickens! Then again, I have trouble finding ugliness in pretty much any critter. 💕

Was video taken down? I don’t see it. Lovely linkies, though.
Sorry about the video. Instagram videos have been giving me problems today as well. I think it’s a problem at their end.

The video didn’t show up for me at first but then I reloaded and it was fine.. One of the other posts did the same thing (I blamed my browser having too much stuff open).

Beware of Dog: They might kill you with laughter. Love the scrolldown on the first picture. I was looking at the lovely Golden and then, bam! Derp.
So I was listening to a podcast (30 Animals that Made Us Smarter from the BBC) and they mentioned the Bat-Eared Fox, so of course I went straight to google. I was going to include a video I found from Nat Geo, which started out super-cute but then got into some, uh, adult content 😉 , so I left it out.

The Japanese kitties are so gorgeous and so focused as they watch the rice planting. It’s adorable.

The “Beware of Dogs” took me down memory lane…
I grew up with Wire-hair Dachshunds (aka – the real ones 😉 – if you ask any German.) Anywayz… our third one – Max – had a bark so deep…
Three or four years after we got him, the mailman finally had reason to ring the bell to deliver something. Once the door was opened and Max was introduced (Max was of course, suddenly, a perfect gentlemen) the mailman exclaimed, “That’s it?!!” By his bark, the mailman assumed he was something much bigger and more ferocious! Ha! Little did he know what a sweetheart our Maxelchen was.
While, by genetics I seem to be a cat whisperer, I love dogs too. Some day I will unite my two fur-baby-loves.
