This is SO GREAT I’m – I’m speechless.
Way to go, Pepper! You are so rockin’ it! All that talent and incredibly good looks too. 🐱
Hilarious!
So talented! And so pretty! What a winning combo.
Pretty Pepper is the Ultimate Jazz Cat. Lucky you, Colleen M!
I may have to break down and get a TV so I can watch Pepper on
America’s Got Talent. Loaded with talent and looks, she’s bound
to win.
Now that would make AGT worth watching! (I mean, I still watch it, but…)
Well, happy Caturday, everyone. I just came back from getting my hair cut. A good six inches gone. 🙂
Does this mean you went from long, flowing locks to shoulder length or do you now have a buzz cut? Inquiring minds want to know.
It went from about my shoulder blades to shoulder length. I made a comment about wondering how many inches she had cut off and she measured the piece she had just cut and it was 5 inches (turns out there’s a ruler on the comb!). But that wasn’t from the back where it was slightly longer to begin with.
Doesn’t it feel good to have a new look?
Pepper is amazing in talent as well as beauty!
I’m having a great weekend already because I don’t have to do anything! Not going to buy a car, because I did that last weekend. Can I just say, I love the new transport! Amazing mileage, very comfortable, and I’m killing the planet a little less with a hybrid.
So far today, I’ve done a little more caulking in the bathroom (the last, hopefully) and scrubbed tub and sink. I’ll fix a light and hang a mirror in the basement bathroom if I get motivated. I’m also washing and blocking some newly finished knitwear, including cowls made from my company’s 50th Anniversary hand-dyed wool and silk. It’s for the Spin-along I’m running this month on our blog. Tomorrow, baking and cooking for the week ahead. All this leisure will go to my head!
I’ve had a very frustrating week. On Monday my 85 year old father was admitted to hospital suffering from breathing difficulties, and over the next couple of days he underwent a battery of tests. When I visited him on Thursday I was shocked to find that he was seeing things and hadn’t bothered to mention it to a member of staff. This afternoon he was incontinent, slightly confused, possibly still hallucinating (he told me a bizarre story about seeing some boys climbing over a fence under his window and police cars chasing them away), and generally worse than he was before he went into hospital.
So sorry, Alice. Thinking of you both and sending hope for a speedy recovery.
Alice, your story about your father resonates extremely deeply with me. That’s how my grampa was when he initially went into the hospital. I’m praying very hard for you and yours.
Quiet week here. We learned that a change in the weather from good to bad means that everyone will be much safer and happier if I stay in bed. I actually yelled at hubby’s computer, and it stopped working!
I have been resisting saying this, but someone has to. Colleen, congratulations. You are the proud owner of Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Heart’s Club Band.
I’ll see myself out.
Wow is all I can say.
👏 👍 Way to go Duckie! You win this thread with the great Sgt Pepper reference. Just been listing to the soundtrack this week so I’m surprised I didn’t make the connection.
I’m so sorry. I don’t remember whether you’ve mentioned that your father had some dementia but the very elderly do not do well in hospitals. Often, if the procedure/stay is not too long/arduous they recover mentally at home. I had that experience with my mother. She had dementia and developed a UTI and became in essence delirious . We brought her to the hospital and her mental status got even worse. My sister and I stayed with her 24/7. Fortunately, her stay was not long and she recovered mentally after being at home. I wish you luck.
Oh dear. So sorry Alice. This is such a difficult time, hard to bear. All the best.
I hope it’s just being lightheaded from dehydration. Hope that he can go home soon.
Something similar happened to mine, doctor said that being in such a new environment throws people. My father insisted that they took him out of the hospital at midnight to watch a silent play.
Pretty sure he was watching the Silent Movies Sunday Night on TCM.
Oh, Alice, how unnerving! I hope his condition improves and settles.
Caring for an aging parent is so like caring for one’s child. The sense
of responsibility is nearly the same, but coupled with the awareness
that this is one’s parent, an elder, with all that that implies. I am sending
positive thoughts over the pond to you.
Alice, I’m so sorry – I hope your father is well hydrated – I would think so since he’s in hospital – but. My mother had similar symptoms and it was because of lack of hydration – her electrolytes were way out of whack.
I’ve not been active much lately, trying to get an illustration job done and it’s been such a slog. For all practical purposes I’m painting with a 2 hair bush and my eyeballs are knocking together. I am so far behind with everything and I do wonder how much it’s worth to do work but can’t get to the house, the garden – the anxiety isn’t worth it in the end.
Best of luck, everyone, with projects, issues, etc. I’m eventually going to try to play catch-up on all the back episodes of Cutetropolis I’ve missed.
Sending positive thoughts that he’s out of the hospital soon and back to being more himself.
Thanks, all. I went to see him this afternoon and he seemed a bit better – and with any luck he might be discharged tomorrow afternoon. I suspect that the hallucinations were caused by sensory deprivation due to lack of TV! When you sit staring into space for every waking hour I suppose your brain has to do SOMETHING to keep you entertained.
Could also be a side effect of medication. That’s what happened to my late father when he was in the hospital. They had to avoid giving him a certain class of pain-killers after that, and the hallucinations did not return.
I would TOTALLY buy tickets to this concert! Pepper, you rock on with your beautiful self!
I also had a cat named Pepper, but she wasn’t nearly as musical. She probably would have been a good back-up singer tho:
Oh what a sweetie!
Oh Lord, I want to be in that (Pepper’s) number.
Somewhat traumatic morning. Took the beast to her least favorite place, the VET’s!!, for her annual.
Also asked that they express her anal glands because hey, that always makes for a memorable visit. Luckily for all, she didn’t need it and came back to a huge treat of fresh catnip to mellow her out.
That’s a bari sax right? 😺 🎷
I tried to say “Foot Flute” fast 3 times and failed.
Saw at B&N today…Coolamari!
Want!
I want.
Here’s some fishies you can touchy…
And some duckies beating the dog days of summer…
☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️
For some reason my favorite part is the floating tennis ball…
