Even in crowded spaces, we are entitled to stretch out and feel at ease; however, securing this space requires strategy and skill. In this demonstration, our test subject has secured a prime spot for relaxation.
When an intruder attempts to join him, the test subject pretends to stretch his legs, first one and then the other, while making groaning noises to suggest recent tiredness or recovery from exercise.
Sender-inner Susan H. says: “Hello again! I was walking through a park in Richmond, BC last weekend and was taking photos of these turtles. One was sunning himself on a log, and when his buddy tried to join him he was like, ‘Not today, Bob!’ “
Hehe…I’m going to a baby shower this weekend and you’re supposed to bring a book instead of a card. I got Yertle the Turtle for him (my mom always does Sneetches, so when I went to pick that up for her I just decided to stick with Dr. Seuss). Yertle’s subjects could probably have taken some notes from this guy. 🙂
Love me some turtles! They are my spirit animal (well, that and peacocks… I guess you could say I’m an extroverted introvert or an introverted extrovert!)
I love Yertle the Turtle. Political commentary and kids story all in one.
What’s not to love?
Aww, poor Bob. 😃
A Cutetropolitan that lives nearby! Yay!
I live about an hour south of Seattle, but my hubby and I journey to the Lower Mainland frequently to visit friends and watch Vancouver Whitecaps soccer games. We love wandering around Minoru Park (and in fact we were staying at the Ramada that borders the park that weekend). Used to see a lot of rabbits there but it looks like they’ve got the population under control as we haven’t seen nearly as many recently.
