I hope you’re not giving anyone ideas (not in this group, I know) but they do use goldfish as decoration for banquet tables and I always wonder what they do with them afterwards. But they are adorable!
They did this at work one year for our holiday party (maybe three years ago; they didn’t have the usual huge building-wide party the last two years). They did a game at the end and the winner at each table got to keep it. I thought it was poorly considered on the part of HR. First of all, who is expecting to need to figure out how to take home a bowl of water with a live fish in it after work? My coworker won ours (our bowl had two for some reason) and they lived a few weeks, I think. I suspect most of them didn’t fare much better. Though my old department kept theirs in the office and someone brought in a tank with filter and he’s still going strong on top of a filing cabinet in their area. I have a feeling HR got some negative feedback on that one.
I too have a birthday coming up soon.
