This adorable wombat joey is Waru, and he recently made his public debut at Australia’s Taronga Zoo. Born last February, Waru is a Southern Hairy-Nosed Wombat, as the whiskers already growing on his extra-large snout make plain. Waru is the fifth such wombat born as part of Taronga’s breeding program, which hopes to extend its efforts to Waru’s cousins, the Northern Hairy-Nosed Wombat.

Oh I just want …. plop, … getting up from falling for too much cute, that face, nose, earsies, lethal toe beans….
Gasp – Wombat yawn! oh, dear, I’m done for the day.
Oh my!! Apparently wombats serve no purpose other than to be devastatingly adorable to the point that we melt at the very thought of them. ❤
I love how wombats have the equivalent of kitten happy paws when feeding!
Never have I wanted to cuddle a wombat more! My goodness!
I would keep you warm with cuddles, little Waru.
