Many shelters have reading programs for shy kids to come read books to dogs, and I assume any other critter there who’s up for story time.

A bunch of shelters have reading programs for kids. I bet if you check, you can find one in your area in need of books, too.
I’m lucky if I get to read a page a day – and animals have little to do with it – I simply fall asleep.
