Baby otters can’t float at first, so mama turns herself into a raft. This looks like so much fun, who would ever want to grow up? (via Andrew Y. and Dana D.)
Marmie in the Lincoln Tunnel had me swooning. Rosie and her Rosebuds killt me ded. And then the otters finished the job. Doesn’t that one need a Mom Taxi tag? Will save the other linkies for later, when I need to decompress from a stressful week.

The newspaper delivery dog… I’d subscribe to the local paper just so he’d fetch it for me every day. Goldens are so dear. And I wanna BE a baby otter so I can have a mama raft! So many adorable and funny cat pics – never a dull moment with a kitty. ๐

Threadjacking for a feral breakthrough! You may recall that I have had a feral named Scorpius for about 3 years now. He’s all alone in the basement because he hurts the other cats and then had a falling out with Fred Weasleycat. I spend time in the basement during my (nearly) daily workouts, when I’m in my studio on the weekends, and all day on Fridays when I work from home. He doesn’t want to play with me and seems to kinda resent my presence. I’m still trying to win him over, slowly, with treats and other signs that he’s loved and secure.
Recently, I got one of those laser toys that sits on a counter and glares out at the room, moving in a random pattern for about 15 minutes, then going dormant and restarting in 3 hours. I had no clue if Scorpius even noticed it, because if he saw *me* he’d run away.
So here’s the breakthrough: I’m working at home, in the basement, and saw him chasing the light! Hurrah! My cat stimulation program is working, even if he doesn’t want to engage with me! Sometimes he’ll poke his head into the workout room to see what yoga poses I’ve mastered–maybe someday we’ll progress to cat yoga.
I certainly do. I’ve been reading a paper copy of the New York Times every day since 1963. When I moved into a doorman building in 1991 I thought having it delivered to my apartment door in the morning was the height of luxury.

If Quincy was your doorman, it would be luxurious cuteness.

I can understand why that baby otter is so blissed out that they’re asleep. Love a happy ending with a cuddling mom who makes you feel safe.

Progress!
Yay!!
Yay!
You have the patience of an earth angel! Well done!
If I ever get to live a next life as a cat, I would like you to adopt me, DebG.
I am impressed by your dedication to tame this sweet lil’ rascal.
OMG Quincy delivering the paper! What a delightful puppers and hoomin!
People still read papers in paper form?
Apparently so. I think newspaper subscriptions in general would increase dramatically if they included doggo delivery. ๐

Love your comment on the โ21 reasons cats…โ page, Mike,๐
Cat Superiority had me howling. I needed to stretch my abs after Wednesdayโs Pilates.
