Okay, kitty stuffed into a cereal box is just too much!!!! 😁
Talk about sugar-soaked! That is the sweetest morsel ever!
I think kitty has gone a little loopy as it’s in a Fruit Loops box.
Specific Mills! 😀
I had Fruit Loops this morning, too. (Made my tea taste weird, though.)
I’d love to know what everyone’s guilty cereal pleasure is… mine is Cap’n Crunch Crunchberries in half and half. I eat it maybe once every 15 years, but lordy, is it good!
Lucky Charms. Honey Smacks and Crunch Berries, too.
Just regular milk (1% or 2%), though.
I grew up eating cereal with half and half. I know now that it is a heart attack waiting to happen. Normally, I stick with 2% or 1%. Can’t do skim… that’s anathema!
I used to do skim but then I switched to 1%. My parents always use 2% (which is what I grew up with, started getting skim in college) and I always can tell the difference, but a couple weeks ago I grabbed the wrong jug (different store than usual; their 2% label was the same color as Wegman’s 1% and I guess I didn’t look too closely) and it was fine. Next time I got 2% again but then this week I got 1%. Just had a whole conversation about milk vs. half-n-half with a guy at work because I was making tea and had my own milk (1/2-pint carton from the cafeteria, which lasts me a 2-3 days) and they provide half-n-half in the kitchen (they have a dispenser and it comes in big plastic bags). The cafeteria only had whole milk (usually they also have 2%, and chocolate) which is fine for tea but I can’t drink it by itself.
Cinnamon Toast Crunch is my all time fave. When I do indulge it’s with 2% milk – whole milk tastes kinda chalky to me. I can’t do skim but 1% is also acceptable. I must confess that I’ve never had Cap’n Crunch, Lucky Charms, Fruit Loops or any of the typical childhood favorites – I think they might be too sweet for me.
Mike, you might want to weigh in on this very critical topic.
My parents came here with me as a babe in arms from Europe. No cereal there, then at least. I had some kind of bread with butter for breakfast, like they did, and by the time I was six or so my milk started being mixed with coffee. I started eating cereal as a convenience for breakfast (didn’t get stale) as an adult, so nothing colorful or painfully sweet.
I’m a bit strange, but my guilty pleasure is whole oats oatmeal with a LOT of brown sugar and half & half. Or actual cream. Yum! I do make oatmeal in my rice cooker, though, and then scoop out a serving and nuke it and doctor it up, but I know the sugar and half & half defeat the whole purpose of the oatmeal so I don’t do it too often.
I love oatmeal as well, with brown sugar and half & half. But I also like to add raisins as the oatmeal cooks so they have a chance to plump up. Yum!
I use dried cherries and cinnamon. And sometimes dark chocolate.
Sometimes blueberries.
Specific Mills! I love it.
Oh you guys! Tx for bringing my attention to “Specific” Mills! I read it and something niggled suggesting humor but it slipped away. Now I am just outright guffawing!! Not in a specific way…just a general guffaw. 😁😄🤣
Hahahahaha. I guffaw in your general direction.
😄
So I stopped at the grocery store and somehow a box of Honey Smacks found its way into my cart…
(Also some Kashi Blueberry Clusters.)
Got oatmeal one time and it was bananas with dark chocolate. So delish, Now I make my own version, either dried raspberries with white chocolate chips or butterscotch chips with almonds and walnuts. For cold cereal, always love the peach and blueberry Cheerios, either separate or mixed together.
Thank you for giving me some good ideas to make oatmeal more interesting!! I’ll eat anything with chocolate. 🙂
