I’ve heard of cat loaf but I didn’t think that’s what it meant.

Also, that bread is toast…
(C’mon, somebody had to say it.)

Looks perfect for making a smashed chickpea salad sandwich.

Talk about a well bre(a)d beauty! I bet hugging kitty is like hugging a soft cloud.

I bet that really DID feel nice and soft for the kitty. Like it’s own personal mattress. Either the bread was REALLY fresh or the cat weighs a lot!! That was really squished down. Bet they found another place to put the bread — like a sturdy bread box!!

To be fair, if your bread is that squishy, you might as well give it to the cat to use as a mattress.
I don’t know what happened to American and Canadian store bread, but nobody should punish themselves by eating it. It’s like playdough.
It’s very easy to make your own bread and doesn’t take much time at all. All the equipment you need is a cast iron skillet or dutch oven. Mark Bittman of the NYT has a great recipe and even shows you on video. https://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/11376-no-knead-bread. The cooked loaves freeze really well, so you make a bunch of them at once.
