A cat’s tongue is a versatile tool, used for grooming, drinking, and showing affection. But another use for the tongue is often overlooked: Covering the nose to avoid unpleasant smells.

I guess he wouldn’t find cat-food-breath unpleasant…
But wouldn’t that mean he’d taste it?
I was always amazed at how little bad breath my kitties had. With the exception of when they got the juice from a can of salmon. Which just smelled fishy. They had a fairly high quality food though, which the vet said makes a difference to their breath and various digestive “disturbances” ๐.
Other uses for cat tongues: Sandpapering their humans’ sensitive skin.
OMG yes they are so good at that…๐บ
Yes they are. I get cat tongue facials regularly.
OT no Cutetropolis calendar for 2020?
No, Deb, Mike said the other day that he just didn’t have time to do it the way he wanted to this year. It’s sad, but on the other hand, we get his brain and humor every day anyway, so it’s not all bad by any means!
Thanks for the update. I must have missed his comment or post. And youโre rightโwe do get to enjoy him every day!
There wasn’t a post but I had asked about it in the weekend thread (I think?) and someone else asked on another post. (I suggested WeRateDogs as a substitute. ๐ )
