Bunday Beauty

“A-yup, this is our busy season,” says Hector Whizzyfizzle, eighth-generation poinsettia farmer as he stands among the rows of plants ready for shipment. “Everybody wants a splash of color on their porch or mantle. Really keeps me hopping,” he says spryly.

(Note: Poinsettia isn’t fatal, but it can make small animals sick, so take care.)

Thanks for the note on poinsettias, Mike. My first thought was wondering whether they can hurt buns.

This bun would go nicely with my couch and carpet. Just sayin’.

    Love his cheek floof, too.

(Why does Chrome think “floof” is not a word? Chrome is stupid.)

That’s a unique, precious looking, lionhead bun. I’ll take the bun but pass on the flowers. I don’t have a green thumb nor care to learn. I enjoy the pretty but don’t want the upkeep. Unless, it’s a bun, I’ll will gladly take care of it.

Luv bunny you certainly aren’t alone in that sentiment. While there are plants out there that can thrive under a grey/black thumb regime, poinsettias are not one of them. True green thumbers can keep this plant alive but re”blooming” is a complex thing.
And yes, I would choose caring for a bun over a plant any day! 😁

I have silk poinsettias for decorations. Pull ’em out of the box and set ’em up. After Christmas, shake ’em off to remove any fuzz or dust, and back in the box.
Duckie creaks herself down beside fuzzball and gently strokes its mane. Peeps, please give me a moment before the stealing, tripping and nabbing begin.

Silk pointsettia are the cat’s meow. A nice real pointsettia looks fake anyway!

I love the gray and brown combo fur! She/he is a truly magnificent rabbit. Definitely got that “I am superior” look in her/his eye!😀🐰🐇

We used to live next door to the Whizzyfizzle family – I wonder if they’re related. 😋

No bunnies in this one, but…Christmas Cakes! (There are some poinsettias.)

Ooooooo, ( But there should be a bunny by the hearth!)

      • allein 🐾 December 22, 2019 / 10:19 am

There really should. Or at least a kitty or pup.

Maybe all three! I’m in awe of people who can do this sort of thing. So not my forte.

Me neither. If I make a cake the only way it’s even getting any kind of lettering is if it’s those hard icing letters from the baking aisle.

Gorgeous bunbun. Hilarious juxtaposition: I’m listening to William Shatner’s rendition of Good King Wenceslas. It’s new to me and I’m crying with laughter.

lol…had to look that one up.

On Christmas Eve I will be listening to this:

Neil Gaiman Reads “A Christmas Carol”

Usually I do it while I wrap presents but if I can get my act together I want to have that all done before then. Then I’ll just listen while I sip hot chocolate or something.

      Also I have a fireplace-scented candle that I light.

I have Jim Dale reading that book. Also David Sedaris’s Six to Eight Black Men is a holiday tradition.

Does he read from Dickens’s own prompt copy?

        Fireplace scented candle Allein? Interesting…

It’s called “Fireside” by Slatkin & Co.

He really needs a corncob pipe.

They’re really getting creative with their poinsettia variations this year.
