And finally: Princess Penelope
Let’s check in on Penelope, The Other Cute Baby Hippo™, who’s almost 250 pounds and throwing some heavy sass at her mama. (via Lois M.)
Hazel and Sheba 💕Hope they get to play together.
This is just soooooo CAT!😂
Lucifer snd Hazel remind me of something I saw online somewhere yesterday (I wish I could remember where) about wombats. Apparently their deep burrows are safe from fires and they have been sharing them with other animals and even herding them into the burrows.
That’s a lovely thing for the wombats to do.
Penelope! She’s got lots of the sass. Love the pygmy hippos so much!
Dramatic cats are fantastic. I’ll save everything else for lunchtime.
Ahh man, I made a really good chicken rice soup yesterday and packed some this morning to bring to work. Well. The lid popped off on route and now I have leaked soup everywhere. :l
A few months back I spilled an entire pot of pasta onto the floor. I’m still finding desiccated pene in random crevices.
😀 Sounds like me and Christmas glitter from wrapping paper. I have vacuumed, steam-moped several times and I am still encountering specks of glitter. Mind you, this better than dried up fussili.
Glitter is forever. I’m sorry about the soup and the penne, but so happy that it wasn’t shattered glass (my specialty, apparently).
FKA, I’m not usually fussy about spelling, but your “steam-moped” finally broke my bad mood. That’s exactly how I’ve been feeling all morning: steaming and moping. Thank you.
LOL!! I didn’t notice my error until you mentioned it! I’m here at work and keep popping in on the fly so my spelling and grammar suffers. But I am glad my mistake helped you through a rough patch. 😀 I mcgyvered my soup btw and am waiting for it to warm up. Food ‘crisis’ averted thus far.
🙁
I made spaghetti (whole wheat) and meatballs (frozen; from Wegmans) last night. The meatballs weren’t bad but they got burned on the bottom and pretty much fell apart; in the end the sauce and meatballs were kind of one big mess (not much liquid sauce to spoon over top of my spaghetti). I got dinner and a lunch for today out of it, but then I couldn’t separate the burned bits out of everything else. I ended up tossing the rest and opening a second jar of sauce for the rest of the spaghetti (added some mozzarella and parmesan). I’ll have to watch a little closer next time. And maybe a higher ratio of sauce to meatballs. (The sauce was Rao’s marinara, which was pretty good. The second sauce is Ragu all natural or whatever they call it; I used to love Ragu as a kid but it’s one of those things I don’t have very often and when I do it doesn’t seem to taste as good as I remember.) So, edible, but a little disappointing…and I’ll be eating spaghetti for the rest of the week, probably.
I am determined to Macgyver the soup as I still have the chicken, vegetables and rice portion; it was just the broth that leaked. So! I am going to pick up some chicken broth at lunch to revive the soup aspect.
🙁 Oh and burnt meatballs are a bummer.
I’m feeling like the dramatic cats today. Mainly uneasy, because I’m in Richmond, Virginia. Miles from the mess at the capitol, but I’ll be glad when it’s over! I am, as always, thankful for the cute. I will be hanging here and giving the cats extra cuddles.
Love that story about Lucifur. What a sweet soul, regardless of his name.
Lucifer is the light-bringer.
And an angel.
