Beautiful cats. Beautiful curtains. I hope you open them wider for a better view of the birds for the kitties. : )

Ditto on the cats and curtains.

    Bertie’s watchin’ the birdies! ๐Ÿ˜€

My mom hung a feeder in the tree on the side of the house because Stars likes to sit on the sewing machine under the window. (Or used to, at least. Haven’t seen her do it in some time. She never liked high places but these days the bed seems to be as high as she wants to go, if that. She might have some arthritis or something going on.)

Icky gray, wet day today. Hope everyone has a good weekend!

I need to go to NY and play the lottery…

“Rain likely. Heavy and torrential downpour at times. High 53. Wind SSE at 10-20 mph.”

Glad I wasn’t planning to go out..

Lovely kitties, and so focused on their tv viewing. Starting the day out with some pea soup fog, can barely see the other side of the street. Supposed to burn off by around 10 then warm up to the 70s today. We’ll see. And yes, I’m with Allein in going to NY for the lottery. Beyond adorable puppies. Thanks for the qte!

I have bird and squirrel feeders to provide entertainment for Lily too! I call it KittyTV. Now off to the pool, after which Iโ€™m going to bake some bread. Trying herb bread this week, with a little whole grain oat flour. Yum! ๐Ÿ˜‹

What a gorgeous, gorgeous girl! They always leave us too soon.

    • Squiddy January 25, 2020 / 10:16 am

Beautiful cat and beautiful photo! I love how the eyes match the greenery.

      • Jan B. January 25, 2020 / 11:42 am

Yes, she had beautiful eyes! That was when Iโ€™d only had her for a short while and she was still uncertain of domestic life. She settled in very well after a while!

Happy Caturday, everybody! We’re looking at the sun in Colorado, where it will get into the 50s. All the big winter storms sweeping the country have ignored us so far–maybe because we got so much bad weather in October and November.

I’m off to run big errands, then I might tackle some small but necessary home improvements. Now that my new windows and soffits are finally all installed, I’ve got an urge to finish up these little things like light fixtures, small shelves, etc. Or I might just play with yarn, fiber, and kitties all day. The cats are still a little shaken by two weekends of contractors.

Bertie and Cheshire have gotten so big! More kitty to cuddle, right, Squiddy? Such handsome boys.

    • Squiddy January 25, 2020 / 10:21 am

Bertie especially is a BIIIIIIIIIG boy. I feel like I am getting my cardio whenever I pick him up. ๐Ÿ˜‰

So sad! Will they be able to repair that gorgeous organ?

      • allein ๐Ÿพ January 25, 2020 / 10:46 am

Yeah; my mom said it can still be played. Another article I saw said that insurance will cover most of the repair cost. My mom also said there was some blood found in the bathroom and maybe some fingerprints. I haven’t seen anything more about the police investigation.

I also learned that it’s 53 years old and has 677 pipes ranging from the size of a pencil to a foot across.

This is heartbreaking. My dad builds pipe organs like these, from the ground up, circuit boards and all, by hand. He used to roll his own pipes, like these, and tune them, himself, before his joints rebelled.

      • allein ๐Ÿพ January 25, 2020 / 12:15 pm

        Wow! That’s so cool!

    Happy weekend, everyone.
Bertie and Cheshire are beautiful kitties.
My two New Year’s resolutions are on track. Intermittent fasting seems to be the best way for me to go for weight loss. I don’t even need to use supplements. And I had an appointment at the university this past week, where I learned that the new board of directors is even more anal than the previous one. If that’s possible. But I’m still looking into going back this fall. More later.
Little Duckie is still not back, and I’m thinking that will not change. I will be talking to the lady currently keeping him and find out what she wants to do.
Back to monthly blood tests, but at least I know I’m in good medical hands.
Have a great upcoming week, everyone, and if anyone sees the sun anytime soon, could you please send some to the Fraser Valley in BC?

Hi all! Today is all art. Art. Art. Art. No chores.

Taking a break on art studio because I have three drawings stacked up in my head. Once I see a drawing I have to try to draw it or draw the next one to stop thinking of the first one. A bit uncomfortable because I see them in my mind as I go about my business. I can take dedicated time to draw in my head but eventually they have to go on paper. Some donโ€™t pan out but most have.

    Have a good weekend everyone.

I’m trying something new this weekend. A leisurely browse on Etsy turned up some patterns for cat dolls, but I haven’t done any sewing since my schooldays back in the 70s. Before embarking on anything fairly demanding I thought it might be wise to start with something simple, so I’m working on some clown-type dolls and kittens made out of cheap socks. So far the results aren’t exactly masterpieces but they’re good enough to donate to the local charity shop.

Oh, and I’ve learned never to wear black when handling polyester filling, towelling and cotton thread…

Reading all the fun stuff here to help me keep sane.

I have shingles. On my head. Taking antivirals, saw opthamologist. One eye half glued shut. At least it’s my “Bad” eye. Hurts to brush my hair! Hurts to eat and brush my teeth. Hurts to wear my glasses because the nose piece is hitting one of the blisters. Waaaah!!!!!!!!!

Time to go make a simple dinner before heading out to cat sit for someone. But feed me and my cat Dancer first.

    • allein ๐Ÿพ January 25, 2020 / 5:20 pm

Ouch! Hope it clears up soon!

    • fkaWaldenPond January 25, 2020 / 6:00 pm

Ugghhhh. Hang in there Birdlady, apparently shingles pain is just awful. sending healing vibes

    • Debg January 25, 2020 / 7:25 pm

So sorry! Weโ€™re sending healing purrs.

    • dubravkamcvmd January 25, 2020 / 8:43 pm

So sorry. I have a friend who had them twice and one friend who had them for years, If you haven’t had the shot, get it!!! There is a new one that is supposed to be much better than the old one (which is till worth getting if you can’t get the new one [very much in demand]). It will help prevent another attack.

So I’m watching Daily Show videos on youtube and the “ad” I just got is the full ~43-minute pilot episode of Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist.

    ….and now I have a new show to watch…
