Welcome to the weekend! The staff of the Cutetropolis conversation center assures your comfort and convenience with professional discretion, such as restroom attendant Teller. “So he follows me to the bathroom like a cat should,” says sender-inner Muppet2171. “Doesn’t mean he wants to watch.”

Well he is trying to give you some privacy. As much as a cat will give you. And Teller is handsome from any angle.
I am an auntie again for the god knows how many times. I think this makes great-niece/nephew # 9. A little girl born 2/10, 19 inches and almost 7 lbs. Totally adorable if I say so and her name is Robin. I think she favors my niece-in-law, and their little boy favors my nephew so they now each have a mini-me.
Busy day today, breakfast with friends then 3 hours of training to be a poll worker in the upcoming primary election. Run a few errands as well than maybe a movie tomorrow.
Happy weekend everyone!
Congratulations! Give your new little darling a hug from another great auntie.
I love that Teller has black circles around each ear. The whole fur pattern is lovely. He’s an overdone loaf but who can complain?
All is crazy in the Duckie household.
I’m recovering from a sinus infection that made all my teeth hurt. Finally got a prescription and permission from pharmacist to double up on pain meds for a few days. Almost gone now.
Little Duckie is moulting. Training is on hold until she feels better. There are tiny blue feathers everywhere, and the new feather casings make her look like a hedgehog.
Hubby is raising h-e-double hockey sticks at work, with my enthusiastic help. If all goes as planned, by the time we’re done, both WCB and Employment Standards will have gotten involved, the other employees will no longer need to strike, finances will improve for all, and the person responsible for all the trouble will be lucky if allowed to scrub out the garbage dumpsters when it’s over.
Muppet, you know you have a gorgeous cat, don’t you?
Rainy day, but I have books, a space heater, and a huge mug of tea. Happy weekend to all.
Wow this work action sounds thrilling. I have my fingers and toes crossed for success.
Tiny blue feathers everywhere?? So sweet!
Big old fashioned bad cold with chills, coughing, pain, etc. etc. day eight. Totally focused on tissues and hot soup. Completely behind schedule now. And Iβm glad no one can see me. Teller would look away for sure.
I just realized you said day eight. That’s brutal. Maybe more like the flu? Either way it sounds miserable. Get well soon Faye!
Thank you Dulcie. Still under the weather!
Teller is the height of discretion. Well, except for that whole “following you into the bathroom in the first place” thing.
Going to dinner with my friend’s family tonight for her sister’s birthday. Woke up with a headache sitting right behind my left eye so hopefully it’s gone before then because the last thing I want to do right now is eat Mexican food.
Pantscat looks just disgusted that other kittehs haven’t followed the example s/he has set.
This was the last week of the semester and I have next week off! I am going to try to be good to myself. Will leave tomorrow for my bf’s place in Vienna. We have plans with family and with his ex, but I am intent on doing yoga, going for long walks, writing letters, baking King Cakes, being creative and sleeping in EVERY DAY.
Sounds luxurious – enjoy!
Two preschoolers give their cat a spa day!
Oh my goodness. That is one mellow kitty. Obviously loves having it’s nails buffed! This is so sweet my teeth hurt!! πΊπ
Something to look forward to.
Oh for Pete’s sake.
I know, right?!
Did anyone else find themselves tilting their head in sympathy?!
I forgot to mention that for my birthday last week I treated myself to another little Viking age amulet, a tiny bell that still rings a thousand years after it was made. This afternoon I’ll be making a bead necklace with which to wear it. I’ve been on a creative kick for the past couple of weeks – writing a couple of poems for the proposed English folklore anthology, making a cat doll plus a dress and shoes to go with it, and planning a small Oscar Wilde themed quilt..
That’s an impressive amount of creativity. I envy your talents.
That’s very cool. I don’t suppose you have a picture of your bell? My friend’s husband would love something like that. He’s a bit of a ‘born in the wrong era’ sort and his ancestry goes back to that part of the world. (He wears a Thor’s hammer necklace, and no, not the one from the movies π .)
Still trying to get a good photo, but in the meantime here’s the Etsy shop I got it from:

According to a DNA test I took recently I have Norwegian/Icelandic ancestry, hardly surprising as Yorkshire was extensively settled by Scandinavians.

Thanks for the link!
That etsy shop is dangerous! Gorgeous stuff!
Fascinating Alice. The thought of owning/wearing a thousand year old bell!

I think these people should create a feature-length motion picture.
More than one! That was awesome,
Better than Cats The Movie and much lower budget.
