And of course the classical kitty is from Istanbul. Turkey loves its cats, they show up everywhere and people just let them be. Remember the mamma cat bringing her cats into the mosque?
Mean cats, wow. I’m so glad all my cats were pretty much angels compared to these guys. I love the hedges, how creative.
I also remember a cat invading a Turkish fashion show!
The hedges are fabulous – back in the 80s a long hedge near Cambridge was trimmed in the shape of a multi-humped Loch Ness Monster.
The mean cats are hysterical. Maybe it’s a good thing that Scorpius just hisses at me and runs away.

My Marci is a sweet, purring jerk. He has mellowed a bit so I can pat him sometimes when he is in a good mood. I tell him that he is not supposed to be on the kitchen table or on the counter every day. Whenever he can hear my steps, he quickly jumps on the counter and strikes a pose to demonstrate his feline defiance and that his tabby coat is just a disguise, he is a real tiger deep inside.
