Sweet Stompin’ Skunks!

Moonshine Wildlife Rehabilitation, deep in the heart of Texas, got handed three baby skunks who weren’t anything like what they expected. For one thing, the bitty babies were almost bald, and their fur wouldn’t come in for weeks. For another, they thought the babies would make a stink, but the three were sweet as could be.

My brother-in-law, who does a lot of wildlife trapping and moving in a conservation area, says that baby skunks don’t actually have the fully functional equipment to spray until they’re 3 months old. But darn, their little stomps are SO CUTE! I’m sure they won’t be so cute when they can produce results….but as babies, there’s not much cuter!

They are amazingly adorable. Is the stomping a warning, because if so , that’s really funny.

I love skunks, especially the bebehs, they’re so cute, except for when the adults spray. I’d love to have one as a pet.

I never thought I’d say this – but they are adorable!!!!! First the little bald jellybeans then turning into fuzzballs and then learning everything skunk. Way too cute, glad someone stepped up to rehab them.

Lil skunklets are adorable, and I’m so glad they had such a wonderful rehabber. This was not only cute, it was fascinating!

    AWWWWWWWWW!!!!!! so adorable!

This started me wondering… does Australia have an animal that is comparable to a skunk? Or is that special stuff for us N. Americans?

So, which is cuter? Stomping bebeh skunks or stomping bebeh porcupettes?

I think the skunks are cuter by a stripe. What is this stomping both species do?

Apparently they do it when they feel threatened. Maybe the babies just practice…

I don’t know – I think it’s a tossup. Anything that little trying to be scary is just too darn cute.

Reminds me of 7-week-old Stars arching her back, raising her fur, and hissing with all her kitten might…at a 6 pound Chihuahua who was, granted, bigger than her, but hardly an intimidating presence.

I will say, thought, that “porcupette” certainly wins in the cute name contest.

That woman is fantastic! Glad those adorable skunklets had such a great mommy. “They literally could not find their worms” lollololololol.
