Tips for Buying Bananas

Of all the popular fruits, none may be more temperamental than the banana. The banana’s typical short shelf life means it must be purchased and enjoyed within a brief window of time. Bananas should be purchased while still slightly green and allowed to ripen. However, if a banana begins to squawk, it is overripe.

What an appealing bird, Andrew Y.

Is it a bad sign when your banana grows feet?

It’s totally normal. Are all your bananas disabled?

Two foot bananas are common. But if you wind up with a three foot one, that yard of fruit can be difficult to deal with.
