I saw a picture on facebook of a Game of Thrones throne made of TP.

Of course Shiro is in there with something on his head.

    Cow blep! (#11)

I was wondering where the hell those toy rats with which some inventive cat owner festooned his or her feline came from, then I read the comments – it was IKEA. I’m 60 and I’ve never been to IKEA; evidently I’ve led a wasted life.

A bit of black humour: this morning I was crawling about in the loft in a fruitless search for my big embroidery frame when I came across a box full of old paperbacks. One of them was Stephen King’s ‘The Stand’, the plot of which I’d completely forgotten, so I took it downstairs in order to re-acquaint myself with it…

FRIENDS, DO NOT READ THIS BOOK. I REPEAT, DO NOT READ THIS BOOK.

(This has been a public service announcement)

Have you ever seen Mochi Kitty on Instagram? He has a similar large collection of frogs from IKEA.

(I also have never been to IKEA, if it makes you feel any better. The closest ones I know of are both at least an hour away.)

I saw a list of books long enough to get you through a quarantine…The Stand was the last one on the list. No, thanks. (Not really a King fan to begin with.)

Just had a meeting at work. Those of us with laptops are allowed to work from home four days a week for the next two weeks. (My big boss was supposed to go to NYC for a budget meeting but they opted to do it over the phone instead.) So I’m in the office today and unless something changes will be in next Monday and work from home the rest of the days. And then I guess we’ll see after that, but the next week will be month-end closing, which we have to get done by a certain date, so working from home would be hard. Two of my group can’t work from home but they can stagger their hours. They also said we could take a half hour instead of an hour lunch so we can leave early. Those who can’t work from home and/or are hourly are allowed to take whatever vacation/sick/personal time they have available if they’re not comfortable being here. They also said the cafeteria will be doing things differently. Normally for breakfast they have steam trays with eggs, pancakes, bacon, etc., and fruit and bagels on the salad bar, and you serve yourself; now they’ll be serving it like they do with the lunch entrees. They also have prepacked salads instead of the regular salad bar. I’m guessing the soups will also be behind the counter. (I brought a sandwich and carrots that I put in my drawer with an ice pack in the bag so I don’t have to touch the fridge or microwave or go to the cafeteria. Even though today was the one decent entree they have on the menu this week.)

Actually, I decided now would be the perfect time to reread the Stand. It’s only the first 400 pages that deal with a deadly virus. The rest is about good vs evil, to put it in pretty basic terms. (yeah, I said first 400 pages; it’s a long book, especially the uncut version!).

Love the link to the Irish President paying attention to his dogs while at a public event.

Working from home today at my company’s request, but feeling sorry for the restaurants that won’t be getting the lunchtime business from me and my colleagues.

I’ve just heard a rumor via the Pentagon that there’s a national quarantine coming. Look for an announcement tomorrow.

Love the Irish doggie and the COWS! Plus photobombing bird! Such great stuff.
