How Fast Can You Foster?

Newbie cat lady has three days to change a cat’s life

With the world at a standstill, animal shelters and their pets need human help more than ever. So one young woman with little cat experience took on a challenge: Three days to foster a sick cat named Tampa and get him to eat. With her camera rolling every step of the way, the cat lady-in-training tried treats, toys, cuddles and even a makeshift sauna to get Tampa back to health and ready to adopt. (via Murray C.)

Good intentions but man such a newbie when it comes to cats, especially sick ones. One thing that she should have tried is a bigger wider bowl for the food, most cats don’t like having their whiskers touching the edges. Also, what usually worked for me when a cat wouldn’t eat is spoon feeding them baby food mixed with plain yogurt. Or tuna/tuna water. Most cats can’t resist any form of tuna. Glad Tampa got better and turned into such a character. I used to have a cat that would watch me while I took a shower, his nickname was Peeping Tomcat, lol.

That was very sweet. I cheered out loud when Tampa started eating. Hope he finds his furever home—I’d take him in a heartbeat if I were still in NYC.

Saw a story today about the Cathedral of St. John the Divine becoming a COVID hospital. It’s the place I love most in the whole wide world—good on them.
