Bats get a bad rap, especially lately, but today’s the day to appreciate bats and the important role they play in world ecosystems. But most of all, to appreciate that they’re just cute puppy dogs with wings who appreciate a good toy.

The MERLin thread is well worth a read! I prefer admiring bats from afar; the rabies issue is real, after all. But I still appreciate them and their place in nature. And some of them are awfully darned cute (from a safe distance).

Started with Donny Osmond looking all jacked, segue wayed into the Band’s Visit, ended up with Hamilton and then cut myself off with A day in hollywood a night in the ukraiane.
lol…I left the video on and the autoplay was on; the next thing was the Les Miserables 25th anniversary concert production and I had to force myself to turn it off. I would have been up until 3 in the morning if I watched the whole thing.
One up side to having my work laptop here, which I hadn’t thought of the last two weekends…last night I used it to watch Phantom on full screen while I did other stuff on my own computer. 🙂
Anyone else remember the post at Ye Olde Ranch featuring a bunch of orphaned baby bats wrapped in blankets sucking on pacifiers?? Possibly the cutest thing I’ve ever seen in my life.

The bat in the upper right corner in the Every Bat post has one of the cutest faces I have ever seen. I love bats but this one is astonishing.
I’m so happy to see this thread! Bats have really gotten an undeserved bad rap lately – people should know how adorable and how helpful they are (eating untold tons of insects). When we celebrated that national charity day (I can’t remember the exact name) a few months ago, I adopted a baby bat! He’s not a burrito bat but he’s still pretty cute. ❤
