Ahhh man, sorry to be a Debbie Downer peeps but please keep Nova Scotia in your thoughts today. Really sad, awful time.

🙁 Was just reading about that.

Yes FKA. Such a tragedy. So senseless. So sad that this individual had such a complete mental breakdown. I have a feeling that a lot of mental stress cracks are appearing in society right now. I hope it does not manifest itself like this again. My heart goes out to the victims. 💕

I saw that and my heart sank. I was just hoping it wasn’t in the area that I have family in, luckily it wasn’t and my Uncle is still at his US home. Praying for everyone involved. Sad to say I think we might have more incidents like this or domestic violence in the near future. We just had one here where an ex-boyfriend killed his former girlfriend’s 15 year old twins and wounded her son.

Victim, there should not have been any victims. And 19 additional survivors.

Don’t know if this will help anyone feel better, but hubby and I went down to the river yesterday with a picnic lunch. We sat at one of the tables and watched a couple playing with their dog. They couldn’t keep the silly thing out of the water, and everyone watching from a social distance was laughing.
When we came home, we saw a mama and papa goose waddling down our street with four fuzzlings. I’ve never seen baby geese in the yellow stage. Everyone was very careful driving around them.

My old route to work passed a pond and I would often see baby geese in the spring. There’s a lake at the park near work, and there are lots of geese there, and there’s also a pond in the “zoo” where you can see baby ducks. And also baby deer (the “zoo” is a big fenced enclosure and there are lots of deer in there, plus other birds and goats and bunnies and pigs and an emu, in smaller enclosures within the big fence).

I once saw a wild turkey and her babies crossing the street near work. Never saw wild baby turkeys before or since.

And someone on my work’s employee facebook group is still working in her store (though closed to the public) and I guess the lack of people at the mall led a pair of geese to decide one of the planters outside was a good place to put their eggs, so she’s been posting videos of her encounters with the pair on her way in to work, and hopefully she’ll get some of the babies when they hatch (mom and dad are wary but have allowed her to get a little closer without hissing too much).

Duckie and Allein…love your fuzzlings stories! These and the links today DO make me feel better.
And as usual, thanks Mike for this site.

Thank you Mike for the links, great start to the week and to some of the other commenters with your animal stories. Makes what we’re going through some-what bearable.

Triton is so cool! I was reminded of The Lion King, Simba and Nala playing in the water together.
