Additional Research Into the Before/After Good Boy Response

The hallmark of good science is peer review — the rigorous process in which theories are tested. For example, in a recent Links post, we observed the physical changes that occur in a dog after learning he is a good boy. Eager to confirm this important research, reader JM writes:

Dusty (a cream Finnish Lapphund) is just over a year old in these pictures (taken in February) and we are working on “down-stay” with a full walk around. I was taking pictures to record our success for his trainer. And this is what happened:

After the complete walk around was done (he hadn’t moved a bit):

dog
Is it me? Am I the Good Boy?

And after he had been told “good boy” (right before he received his treat):

dog
It is me! Yes it is! YES! IT! IS!

Young Frankenstein. Or Fronkensteen if you prefer. I had to look it up as it only rang a weak bell with me.

I went back to the earlier post and discovered the inclusion of cats at the very end. Those photos were the funniest of all!

There was also a parrot, as I recall. Fantastic stuff.

Mike, I’m glad you take science seriously!

That’s gorgeous Finnish Lapphund. Also, a very good boy with an even gooder smile.
