Wow, it’s quiet over here today. Guess everyone is having a hard time getting started on a Monday. Lots of cutie pies in the links today, kitty guarding “mouse” is funny, I’d never get any work done with him/her around.
Welp, we got outbid for the house I told you about yesterday. Whomp, whomp but kind of expected it as the place was gorgeous. We are the back up offer in case those buyers don’t go through for any reason. I’m no too upset though, housing prices here are insane and I refuse to get into a bidding war plus I’m expecting prices to start dropping (I’ve already noticed some pricing cuts). So we shall see what happens. I have a nice place here so we’re in no rush to leave.
Sorry you didn’t get the house. I just got off a department meeting call where we learned that all but one of the people furloughed are not coming back. 🙁 The one who is returning is only saved because someone else is going on maternity leave at the end of the summer and we need someone to help cover.
I was supposed to give my answer to whether I want to go forward with the moderator trial period on that site by yesterday and the evening got away from me and I realized after I went to bed that I never wrote back. And now after this news my brain is just muddled and I don’t know if I’m in a good frame of mind to commit to something like that. But I need to respond soon.

That sucks. Some days I think the only reason we haven’t all been furloughed/laid off is we have a very strong union backing us up. Fingers crossed things start looking better on your end.
That sounds like a smart decision, bidding wars are awful and insidious.
Sorry for the depressing news for your both. AJ, I’m going to hope that the first offer falls through. Allein, the furlough news sucks. Hopefully your situation at work will turn around.
