Earlier today, we enjoyed an adorable moment with a puppy and a pony. Now let’s see how much fun a dog and horse can have when they’re all grown up. Lucy the dog and Whiskey Brown the horse live together in Texas where they share a bond as big as all outdoors. “This horse is like a giant dog,” note’s Whiskey’s human. “He thinks all of the other animals are his pets.” (via Cheryl S.)
Why do all these people have dogs and ponies and I have neither?!?! 😢
That dog is going to need her kibble tonight. And some water. And possibly an IV at halftime. Her one advantage is she can go in and out of the fence like it wasn’t there, but other than that, she has a severe comparative leg-length shortage. But she’s completely game (as dogs usually are) — she’s going to keep up the best she can. Or wait for her horse buddy to circle back around so she can cut the corner and not have to run as far.
And the horse — running for the joy of it, even taking a few jumps for fun rather than going around.
I also loved how the camera lingered looking down the fence line at nothing. “I know they’re in there somewhere. They’ll come back if we’re just patient.” And then there they were, off in the distance, the horse far ahead, the dog racing as fast as she can behind.
What a pair.
Is that… heaven?
