A staple of classic cartoons of Hollywood’s golden era, the “take” is an exaggerated reaction by a character to something surprising, anything from an impending disaster to his heart’s desire. The action often incorporates a bulging-eyes effect to indicate what the character is seeing. While normally confined to cartoons, the effect occasionally occurs in real life as well.

Socko! Boffo! Mike, one of your great scroll downs.
Sweet little bun!💋 My bun would never stand for that! He would have shook his head and hopped away indignantly. 😋
Who’s to say that didn’t happen immediately after this shot. I imagine there was much disapproval that day.
Good morning on this rainy Bunday. Love this fuzzy cartoon bun.
I was forced to take leftover apple pie last night. It’s fruit so it’s okay for breakfast, right?
Pie is always ok for breakfast! Just think of it as a giant pop tart. I used to have a slab with a hunk of cheddar cheese. Mmmm was that yummy.
(I also have Pop Tarts.)
Love the coloring on bun bun and can almost feel the disapproval emanating from it. I feel a harrumph coming in the near future followed by a cold shoulder for the rest of the day. Copious amount of treats might help.
Mine would probably throw flowers, thump, thump and then probably try eating them. Cute fuzzy bun bun.
Allen- in my world, if I’m hungry for something, I don’t care what meal I’m eating. Now Kraft is trying to get kids to eat Mac & Cheese for breakfast, so I say – go for it, pie, tarts, etc….
Sorry, Kraft, but no. Mac & Cheese is not breakfast.
Another gorgeous bunbun. Wish I could cuddle it. My other auntie, the 91-year-old just diagnosed with leukemia, died last night so I’m hugging all the cats who will allow it.
Thanks. I’m so glad I have you all at Cutetropolis.
If I recall, you’ve had another relative pass away, not too long ago. Sorry about this auntie. Keep hugging the cats and sending sympathy thoughts from me . Take care of yourself.
Yes, last weekend another auntie died. My poor aunties have been fragile lately. Fortunately, I managed to get in touch with each of them before the end came, to tell them how much they meant to me.
So sorry for the loss of your aunties. In the past few years, I also lost two aunties, both well into their 90’s. My remaining aunt is doing very well at 78 and is the matriarch of our family now. Take comfort in your memories and in the cute!
I’m so sorry. You’ve had a lot to deal with.
Hugging cats sounds like a good idea. Theo bunny sends a virtual nose bump.
So sorry DebG, it has been quite the roller coaster ride for you this month. Lots of hugs and kitty purrs coming your way. ❤️
