Welcome to another Caturday, fellow Cutetropolitans! In case you need extra cheering up today, reader Tina M. comes through with not one but three kitties enjoying a soak in the sun:
I happened to catch three of my seven kitties snuggled up in a window for a nice photo opportunity.
From left to right we have: Jenny (momma cat), Rocky and Penelope – two of her three babies that we “fostered” Spring of 2018. Obviously we are the ultimate Foster Failures as we kept all four kitties.
I see your kitties wake up early to go to work. No rest for the wicked. 😼 😼 😼
Lovely kitties. Kinda cool you kept mom and her babies together. And 7 total!? Wow, still deciding if that would be bliss having that many or total chaos. Maybe blissful chaos, lol.
Beautiful kitties! I have a friend that also ended up keeping a momma and all her kittens, so you’re not alone!
We had a little rain yesterday and over that’s clearing the air of smoke thankfully, with more rain to come today and tomorrow. The air quality index is amazingly in the good zone this morning. I might even be able to go for a walk this weekend. 💜☔️☔️☔️☔️
Lily would also like to join the sun cuddles!
Love all the cats cuddling with the sun☀️ We have had some cool days and I am looking forward to fall, as is my bun—who really suffers in the hot weather with all that FUR!
A little depressed as I just heard Ruth Bader Ginsberg passed away yesterday.😥 She was an amazing court justice and will be greatly missed.
sigh. Yes, RIP RGB. This was the icing on the cake of a distressing week.
tara scoops up all the beautiful kitties and heads to the nearest dandelion patch
Duckie joins kitties and Tara in the dandelions, bringing banana muffins and Tootsie Rolls.
Yay for Tootsie rolls!
Little Duckie likes my banana muffins.
Now, hold on! That’s not the catnapping that was intended. 😲
If I bring a lovely selection of teas and decaf pumpkin spice coffee, can I join you guys in the dandelion patch? Losing RGB has given me a serious case of angst, I’m just keeping my fingers crossed that he who I will not name and his in-his-pocket toadies can’t push through a new judge
Same. Of course the other who I will not name from Kentucky will try to let them. I’ve already seen his own words from 2016 quoted; not that he has enough shame to abide by his own pretend rules. He’s already given some reason why this is different.
I just got some tea from Adagio the other day (which did not take a whole extra week and a detour to Texas to get to me like the book I got earlier in the summer, thank you, FedEx). Chocolate Truffle tea, anyone? Or I have ginger peach or lemongrass ginger. Making banana bread later. Will see you in the dandelion patch!
My apologies to the rest of the USA for sending Mitch McConnell and Rand Paul to the US Senate and Thomas Massie to the House from Kentucky. We aren’t all redneck Conservatives, but, unfortunately, it appears that most of us are!
Pumpkin spice coffee? Feeling a little better already😘
❤️Oh yes please, all are welcome in the dandelion patch ❤️
Tara, sorry about the distressing week.
I too am mourning RBG and seriously stressed about what will follow.
Ugh! Dreadful night. Not usually happy to see morning, but today…
Good morning, all. It’s finally started to rain here, and I might actually be able to breathe today. Would love to be a part of a kitty cuddle puddle.
Going to do some baking today, as my bananas seem to have ripened overnight.
Have a great weekend, everyone.
Happy Caturday, everyone!
So sad to hear about RBG; I heard the news break into Wheel of Fortune last night from the other room and thought, “no, no, no”; was hoping she could at least hang on until January. Feeling a bit (more) pessimistic about the future this morning but trying not to dwell because what can I do about it? Except I a got a postcard from the county yesterday explaining how NJ voting will work this year so I can do that.
But glad to hear about rain out west. I saw a video someone posted of rain on their deck somewhere in Washington or Oregon. Hope it continues and helps rein in some fires. We’ve even been getting hazy sunsets from smoke here on the east coast (but it’s up high enough that it doesn’t affect the air quality).
Not much going on here. I have some cleaning to do and a book that needs reading and bananas that want to be bread. Don’t know if they want to be chocolate bread or not yet. (One of them became part of a blueberry smoothie last night. I had too many blueberries and a lot of them were deceptively blue but turned out to be bitter, so I put them in the freezer before I went to bed Thursday night then tossed them in the blender with some milk and a banana when I got home from work. I guess blueberries are over for the year. 🙁 And I only got apricots once this summer. Bah. At least I had lots of good peaches.)
Here’s some extra cute.
Thank you Allein for the cute. Those are some ridiculously fluffy chickens. Wonder what breed they are? The fire near me is almost contained and we finally have blue skies again. Just in time for another heat wave. Yesterday was 90 before lunch and almost 85 now at 11 am. Blessings to the person who invented A/C.
I was originally thinking Silkies but according to comments on the video they are Polish Frizzle chickens. I have never heard of them before.
They look like Mums!
When I first saw the top of the video still (before I scrolled down a bit and hit play) I thought I was looking at some kind of flower.
Hey 6Rabbits, I thought they were chrysanthemum’s or dhalia’s at first glance too! 🙂
I always have to restrain myself from buying fresh berries in August or later. They’re never up to snuff. The last blueberries I bought had no flavor at all.
The good ones were good, but there were too many mixed in that made me wince with the bitterness so they weren’t good for eating by themselves. (And I also didn’t pay attention to the price until I scanned them and the self checkout announced it – they were waay too expensive to let them go to waste.) I did get some raspberries the same day that weren’t bad, though a few of them had almost white flesh (couldn’t seem them until I dumped them in the colander) and not much flavor so I guess they’re done, too. I got strawberries several times this summer, with mixed results, so I didn’t even bother looking at them this time. Until next year, my beloved berries. I expect my next trip I will be greeted with the autumnal wall of apples.
Glad your kitty shirt worked out.
Happy Caturday, all! Tina, those are some beautiful kitkats, and they’re clearly living the life.
If you didn’t see my note earlier in the week, thanks to everybody who chimed in with birthday wishes. It was a really hectic week and I’m just now catching up on some videos and posts from earlier in the week!
A report on the kitty shirt that Allein found: it finally arrived, and it was fine. I just didn’t realize that it was going to be 100% polyester, though the page said cotton & poly. It’s still adorable; it just won’t breathe, and with my hot flashes, that can be a big consideration. I’ll save it for wearing at home, where nobody cares if I’m stinky.

Since I’m low on cash until payday, I’m not working on house projects that require more supplies. Instead, I’m playing in the dye kitchen because I have to use up some stock solution. Woe is me, right?!
Have a great weekend and stay safe, everyone.
Banana bread (no chocolate) is in the oven!
I’m thinking some decaf apricot tea…
