Kitten with baggage, hot firemen, persistent groundhog, Linus lion, and Fiona stands tall

And finally: Get Off My Back, Fiona!

Boy my US peeps must all be out at Black Friday sales or still in a food coma from yesterday as I’m the first commenter. Great set of links. The comments on the firefighter calendar are hysterical and the animals are so cute. Yeah for all the adoption stories today. And Fiona is her same old goofball self, that dismount made me laugh. How far she’s come.

I don’t do shopping on Black Friday in normal years; definitely not this year. I actually had to get up because I had an appointment this morning and had to be there at 9:30. Then I stopped at the bank to cash a check (dividends from my insurance company). I would have just deposited it through the bank’s app but it was $119 so I got a $100 bill to use for my annual book drive donation (I make a game of trying to get as close as I can to $100 without going over; my best was $99.96). Now I just need to decide what my theme will be. Was thinking science/nature.

Then I went to the park and took a walk. Passed several cute pups and got to scritch a very soft doggie on the head. Just got home a little bit ago and am catching up on my internets.

My phone is supposed to be delivered today, to my parents’ house. Let’s see if they managed to get the address right this time….

I hope if everyone is at a sale they are being careful. Stay safe and keep others safe. 💕
Also: “puts on sexy underwear, lights house on fire, waits…” 🤣🤣

The airport kitten article had a related video about six kittens found in a CAT machine!

    Morning.
Am considering taking all cute animals, including Fiona AND firemen, and going back to bed. No reason, except that I don’t want to adult today.
Hope all the US peeps had a good day yesterday.

I don’t buy on Black Friday, and if I did, I wouldn’t do it in a store. I just couldn’t think of anything to say. I read a bit over breakfast, and since then I’ve been working!

Any day that starts with Fiona shows promise.

Okay, who the hell says “I think our young kids need a pet…I know, let’s get a lion!”?

Best part of the groundhog video is the nomming noises at the very end.

Generalizing here, but it seems to be guys who need to ah, compensate by bolstering their egos with bad pet choices.

I think we’ve seen that calendar before. The rescued lion who needs a blanket is so touching. I’m glad he’s safe. The groundhog who bustled into that family’s life and took over is a very impressive creature.

We have seen that calendar before. An earlier post led me to buy one, for the home office because it wouldn’t be appropriate at work. Just another reason to look forward to 2021!!!!

A few years ago on Thanksgiving Eve, I was home watching tv in my LR when I heard lots of footsteps coming up the stairs. I assumed someone was having a holiday party, but they kept coming and coming and sounded like elephants. Curiosity took over so I peeked through my peep hole and saw about a dozen fire fighters swarming around in my hallway. What the heck? I opened my door, to a slightly smokey hallway and there was not one, not two, but SEVERAL super cute, very hot firemen. No wonder it was smokey. 😁I asked if I should be putting on my shoes and grabbing my keys, but in my head I was thinking “brb while I slip into something a little more comfortable…..”.

Turns out the couple across the hall was cooking their turkey and their stove caught on fire. No injuries or major damage, thank goodness.

Ever since, let’s just say that I’ve been tempted to set my stove on fire. 😬

      I’ve heard of worse plans.

Fiona, OMG. She never disappoints. What a girl.

Groundhog story is seriously cute. Now I want one.

I have heard the the Japanese have groundhogs shipped to them as pets – don’t know if that’s still the case, but I find them darned cute, too and could imagine having one as a pet.
There’s a fellow on the internet who found a groundhog making free with the veggies in his garden and made a separate groundhog garden with a little picnic table and other niceties. I think the groundhog lives under an outbuilding on the guy’s property and has produced offspring! Ooooo, baby groundhog! Gotta be pretty cute!

Chunk the groundhog! One of my favorite IG accounts. He and his lady friend had 3 babies. Unbelievably cute.

Mike, I wanted to tell you how sorry I was about Ani. You gave her such a wonderful life. I have never had a bun pass that way, but though it’s a shock at least you didn’t have the anxiety of visits to the vet with no answers – or terrible answers and lots of treatments that end up not doing any good. I had been thinking about Ani and meaning to ask you how she was during the previous week before you gave us the news. I’m glad you have your cat buddy to ease things for you.
