The Great Pyrenees puppies are going through some changes as the Queen of the Side-Eye leaves home. Here’s reader Andrea with the news:
My favorite girl came down with a serious infection. She should be okay, but she’s going to need to spend some time in the veterinary hospital with some antibiotics and a lot of TLC.
We’d been talking with our vet about him possibly adopting one of the puppies beforehand. He was already interested in one of the girls but this incident made up his mind that he wanted the baby who’s currently sick.
So the plan is for him to take her home once she’s out of the hospital. It’s a little early for her to be separated from her mom and siblings but her new dad will be better equipped at monitoring her in case she relapses. He’s decided to name her Lyra.
So here’s to Lyra having a speedy recovery and a great life with her new human. Hopefully I’ll see them around sometime.
Pictures this time are a time line of Lyra from her eyes opening to the last picture I got of her before she had to head off with her new dad to the hospital.
Bonus video: We have romping! Repeat: we have romping!
Aw, poor baby. Hope she feels better soon, and glad she has a good home waiting for her.
That looks like quite the, uh, vicious attack…
Get well soon, Lyra! I’m glad you have a nice and very savvy new hooman dad to look after you. Andrea, I do hope you’ll be able to keep with Lyra. And thanks for the Romping!
Dear sweet girl, get better soon. And congrats on your new name and your new dad! I’ve been meaning to re-read the Philip Pullman books; now I’ve got an extra incentive.
Such an adorable baby. And the romping!
Such a beautiful girl with a wise and clever name. I hope her Daddy Dogter has an Instagram account for her!
Oh Lyra! A perfect name. I hope she improves quickly!
lol, errrr… that kinda looks more like rolly-polling… what goofballs. 🙂
