Welcome to 2021, Cutetropolitans! It’s a new year, and reader Heather R. is welcoming a new pet!
May I introduce the newest addition to my fur family, Jasper Finley. I rescued him from a life on the mean streets and he’s quickly getting used to the good life of warm beds, plentiful kibble, and lots of scritchies.
Congratulations, Heather! Welcome to the good life, Jasper Finley!
What a beauty!
Welcome Jasper Finley, sending virtual scritchies.
Jasper Finley looks so plush… built for comfort, not for speed, I presume!
Agreed, so plush! Congrats to the both of you. 🙂
Awwwww, Jasper looks like a true cuddle bug. Congrats!
And, Happy Saturday all!
Have to return to work on Monday….😩…. so must make it a good weekend.
Thank you, Heather, for giving handsome Jasper a wonderful home!
Jasper is adorable. Congrats and here’s to many years together.
Welcome, Jasper Finley! He looks like he is settling in to a life of domestic comfort just fine.
How are Bertie and Cheshire? I’ve been wondering about Bertie’s recovery.
Bertie is doing really well! I’m still cautious about how much he licks, so he’s intermittently in the cone of shame, but he is cheerful and affectionate. Cheshire continues to be perfect.
Jasper is so handsome! And adapting quite well to the good life, I see!
Happy New Year, all! May it be healthy and prosperous!
Lily notes that the squirrel problem is unabated and would really appreciate fewer doors holding her back….
That squirrel is quick on the uptake.
Lily has the perfect cat TV.
May he find much love and give love and snorgles in abundance to his lucky human.
Happy first weekend of the year!
Things are looking a bit up in Duckieville. Hubby started new wages yesterday, and we figured that working on New Year’s Day at double time and a half made for a good start.
I’ve decided to get some counselling to see if that might help with the depression.
I’ve also decided to forcibly start two projects I’ve been putting off. If I don’t enjoy doing them, then maybe getting them done will help.
I gave hubby the original Blob movie for Christmas. We watched it yesterday, and to our surprise and huge amusement, Little Duckie started talking to the blob! Every time it made a noise, she chirped right back. She got really excited when the blob consumed someone.
Groceries today, and then organizing my thoughts and plans for the coming week.
Have a fantastic weekend, everyone. And welcome to Jasper Finley.
I have never wanted to meet a birb as much as I want to meet Little Duckie! Your stories of her antics just tickle my funnybone!
Yes that birb is such a character! I am just chuckling over the interaction with the Blob! 🤣
Duckie, I live not that far from the movie theater that the blob was filmed in! I have even walked past it when I visited the town (whose name I can’t think of at the moment) Make sure to tell Little Duckie!
Jasper Finley, you are a gorgeous lovable hunk o’ feline deliciousness and I wish I could’ve you a hug and a boop. But only if you’d like.
And I wish you all the best New Year – I certainly hope so. I’ve been pretty even tempered about all the attendant rules and regs, been reasonably content to do what I have to do to keep me and the hubster safe, but it’s even getting to me. I love being part of all the cuteness and fun and general good-naturedness of this lovely group. Let’s meet up after the lockdown!!!
“She got really excited when the blob consumed someone” LOL!!!!
Heather…so glad you’ve opened your heart and home to rescue Jasper. I agree with the many other comments on his handsom looks! I love the very plush coat.
And oh Lily! I know this is frustrating for you! But I am glad there’s doors between you and Mr. Squirrel 😁.
I am a day late with my new year’s wishes to all you Cute peeps – but no less sincere! I hope you all have a year blessed with good health and much cheer.
Alice…I will be watching to see how the new Europe free year unfolds for you! I would find it a bit scary?!
Happy first Caturday of 2021! Hope you’re all enjoying a good weekend.
Jasper Finley is certainly doing so. Gorgeous boy. Congrats to him and to Heather for finding each other.
I too go back to work on Monday–which means trundling down to the basement! It’s been glorious, having a long break. I spent the week not doing DIY projects. My hands wanted to play with yarn and fiber, so instead, I wove some scarves, knitted on several projects, and spun some yarn. I also processed some fiber for spinning, which is always interesting. When you work on a fleece, whole or in part, you really get to know that sheep.
Since I enjoy my job, it will also be fun to get back–once the initial horror of my email inbox dies down.
Health and happiness to you all! I’d be lost without you.
Welcome, Jasper! Looks like you’ve won the kitty lottery!
I’m at the point where I can actually think about getting a new kitty without it making me sad, so maybe in the next couple of months we’ll start looking at shelters. I can’t believe it’s already been 5 months since we lost Lahara!
I, too, am going back to work Monday after a week plus off, so I’m going into the office for a couple hours today to do some things to get ready for the week, since I have a full (and then some) schedule all week.
Also in the process of trying to buy a new SUV since my 20 year old Jeep, which I love, is starting to break down frequently. Having a hard time since none of the newer SUVs really excite me, style-wise, and they’re all either too big or too small, but I think I’ve found something I can live with, and the price is great since it’s a “new” 2020 (never sold, only 8 miles on it). I hate buying cars. 😛
I agree with you about SUVs (too big or too small). Plus, since I like to keep my car for at least 10 years, the decision is more important to me (compared to people who get a new car every few years).
I ended up getting something like really looks and feels like a station wagon with AWD. Station wagons were THE family car when I was growing up. I really wish they would make a come back. Why not? Everything else from the 70’s/80’s is coming back. right? LOL.
Happy New Year and welcome, Jasper!
Determined to get off my butt and get something accomplished in my house today.
Also determined to set up my Netflix account and finally use the gift cards I got for Christmas…two years ago! And I’ve been debating opening a Discover savings account (and transferring my money from my current Capital One account). Discover has a slightly better interest rate (though not nearly as good as it was 9 months ago…) but part of my incentive is that Discover is my primary credit card so I am on their site at least once a month, and I will be less likely to ignore my savings account if it’s there (I had at one point not touched the other one in long enough that I got a message that it was going to be closed if I didn’t do anything in a certain number of days). So I should just do it, right?
And finally, a thought on getting a cat…
That’s adorable. When I rewatched the Fantastic Beasts movies over the past 2 nights, I fell in love all over again with Jacob’s niffler buns.
Thank you so much for the good wishes and admiration! Jasper is appreciating all of you with purrs and affectionaye headbutts. His arrival is especially welcome because my current roommate is moving out, along with her pug Coco and kitty Burt. So Jasper will console me through the grief. (My boyfriend is also moving in, and while he gives me great joy, he doesn’t quite have the purr perfected.) =)
Congrats to everyone starting their projects, getting into therapy, and setting up Netflix accounts. These are all things that have given me great joy, and I hope they help you as much as they have helped me.
Congratulations on your new owner, Heather! May you serve him well.
