On a side note, todays a.word.a.day word is “snoot”…I was disappointed that one of the usage examples was not about booping.

Puppy Power. So glad this helps the frontline workers. I am constantly amazed how these heroes go to hell and back every day. In spite of the glaring obvious – it needn’t be that overwhelming!

Puppycam is a great idea–anything to help these nurses, who are all heroes in my book.
First a melted cheese turtle. Now a pizza turtle. Make me hungry, why don’t you?!?!?!?!
I think I’m good on repealing the pittie ban. To be clear, I’m more worried about irresponsible owners who don’t train these dogs properly. But the extras in place to monitor pitties seem like a good step.
Love the catleidoscope! No wonder kitty was so confused!

There are lots of pitties in my neighborhood in NYC, and they are mostly very sweet. I’m a little more wary around the ones who are “intact,” as that gives me concerns (rightly or wrongly) about their owners.
Since Bibi is the size of a canapé, I always ask the owners if their dogs are friendly and calm. (I used to do the same with Ricky). But then, I do that around any large, strong dog.
Pitties are wonderful dogs unless someone ruins them. I never thought banning them was a good idea; just banning bad owners.
Before my old regular Starbucks location closed, there was a guy who I would see sometimes and one morning he had his dog (why they let him bring a dog in I don’t know; I once brought Pablo to visit the bookstore and I was not allowed to bring him into Starbucks). They were at a table not far from the pickup counter, and the dog growled at me. The guy was holding his leash but this was a very muscular dog. I grabbed my drink and left.
Since Bibi is the size of a canapé 😂

Ricky was only the size of an hors d’oeuvre. 😉

I’m glad pitties are now allowed in Denver and Aurora, I think breed specific bans are wrong, any dog can become agressive if it’s not socialized properly and that’s the owner’s fault.
Laws should be in place to protect the public and the dogs. In my opinion all dogs regardless of the breed should be microchipped, have their rabies vaccines up to date and be spayed or neutered. The owner of a dog that bites someone and causes grave injuries or that have multiple biting incidents should be banned for ever owning a dog.

Love the cat-lidescope but kitty seems somewhat confuzzled.
And I agree about abolishing dog breed bans, generally it’s how the dog is raised that determines their temperament. But on the other hand, there are some dogs that no matter how lovingly treated, or well socialized, or trained will also be slightly aggressive. I had one of those dogs and she was dog reactive, plus only allowed certain people to handle her but at the same time, she loved kids. As we got her from the shelter at 4 months, I kinda wonder how she had been treated before we rescued her. She was a bundle of contradictions – great watch dog with a bark from the depths of h..ll but was so totally afraid of thunderstorms she’d hide in a closet for 24 hours.
Our dog when I was a kid, who was very much my mom’s dog – she (and the daughter of a family friend, for some reason) was the only person who could pick her up without getting bitten. (She was a miniature Schnauzer, so not much of a threat, generally, and not otherwise agressive, either.) The one and only time she slept in my bed was when there was a thunderstorm and no one else was home. I was in high school at the time and my parents had gone out and I went to bed before they got home. As soon as she heard the front door she left me.
I’ll take a Leo or two…
