Good morning, Cutetropolitans! The chat room is already prepared because today’s cat, Penny, gets up early every morning whether she likes it or not says reader Muppet2171:
Sadly, my workday (work from home) begins at 5 am. This photo was taken shortly after that time. She is not a morning cat (neither am I, TBH).
Pretty Penny ponders perhaps permitting petting.

well done
Love when we get a visit from the always lovely Penny, no matter what mood sheβs in. I up around that time too but itβs mainly because it takes my brain and my body about an hour to kick into gear.
Weβve had some wild weather here, yesterday was heavy rain, hail, thunder, and some lightning. Thankfully the storm has passed and today should be clear. Which is great because some restrictions have been lifted here and we can eat at restaurants again! Just outdoors but Iβll take it. And hair salons/barbers too! So hubby can finally get a haircut as heβs been looking like he stuck his finger in the wall outlet. Iβm waiting to hear when my stylist will start taking appointments again βcause my hair is driving me crazy but Iβm trying to be god and not take the scissors too it. Aside from those happenings, not much else going on. I did get 4 boxes over to the auction house so weβll see what sells and get some cash for stuff that was just sitting around gathering dust.
Happy Caturday, all. Can’t beat Georgiana’s comment on Penny so I will just agree that I am not a morning cat, or a cat, either.
How ’bout some breakfast in bed?
I have an eye doctor appointment this afternoon. Been putting it off but I need to do it. Will have two masks and try not to freak out. Other than that…there’s laundry ‘n stuff. And I have a granola bar recipe I want to try (supposed to be like Nature Valley Oats ‘n Honey bars).
I don’t know which I am more shocked of–the hats or that dogs are eating CELERY!!π
My phone apparently doesn’t know my avatar!

Happy Caturday, everybody! Penny, you could just sleep while mom works. My cats do that all the time. (She looks so miffed, and it’s adorable.)
I’m taking the day off on Monday, just because, so today I’m starting to organize my spinning and dyeing projects. Hello Google Sheets! Used to use them all the time at my previous job, and I actually have a Chromebook now, so it’s time to get cracking. Then I can spend all of Monday in my dye studio, cooking up some colorful magic.
Hope all is well with you folks.
I wish I could take the day off on Monday. They’re predicting snow. The hourly forecast shows “snow showers” from 4-6pm Sunday, and “snow” from 7pm Sunday to 7am Monday, then “snow/wind” until 11am (and that’s all the hours they show). I’m supposed to be in the office Monday and Tuesday but hoping they’ll close, which, if that’s accurate, it seems likely. 10-day forecast shows snow showers on Tuesday, as well.
If they close the building I will just work from home, because we’re closing out the fiscal month next week and I’m not going to cut that short by a day (I’m sure my boss would expect us to WFH, anyway). (I might even do some stuff on Sunday just to make my Monday a little easier.) But I don’t want to have to drive in snow. Though it seems like it will start early enough on Sunday that there won’t be much question.
…WINTER STORM WATCH NOW IN EFFECT FROM SUNDAY EVENING THROUGH LATE MONDAY NIGHT…
WHAT…Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 5 to 11 inches possible. Winds could gust as high as 45 mph.
WHERE…Portions of central, northern and southern New Jersey and southeast Pennsylvania.
WHEN…From Sunday evening through late Monday night.
IMPACTS…Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Snow will develop west to east late Sunday and last through late Monday or early Tuesday. A period of wintry mix or rain could occur Sunday night and Monday morning, especially along and near the coast, before turning back to snow Monday evening. The highest snowfall rates are most likely to occur Sunday night through Monday morning.
Yes, we’re near Philly, so will be getting that storm. I’m looking forward to hunkering down – and I know I’m lucky to be able to do so. I will have to shovel and sprinkle salt and all of that, but I don’t mind – it’s a good workout. Allein, I do hope you’ll be able to stay safe at home – and I love the celery-munching puppets.
Good news! Fergus is back to his old dear self and I couldn’t be happier. It took a while for his system to come back after the antibiotics but motility is restored! (The crowd roars)
Penny is a gorgeous pussycat even though she’s been deprived of sleep. I wager she’ll catch up. Muppet2171, you may not be so lucky.
Wonderful Fergus news!
I’m so glad Fergus is better. Hugs to you all.
Great news about Fergus!
Such great news MC…Go Fergus go!
Yea for Fergus!
Just saw the happy news about Fergus. Yay!
Most of the morning, she curls up on the window seat and very cruelly naps at me! I think she does it on purpose. π
Thursday I had a cat sleeping all day in the cat tree. Every time I looked up from the computer, all I saw was a fat cat butt overflowing the perch. π±ππ€£ Talk about intentional and in your face napping.
Yeah, that sounds deliberate to me.
“Naps at me” – πππππ I’m reading Bill Bryson’s book “The Mother Tongue”, and he writes about how flexible the English language is. I think this phrase is a good example of that..( I just noticed that the second, tilted laughing emoji seems to be no more! I am outraged – nobody told me!)
Thanks for your comments about Fergus!β€οΈ
this one? π€£
YES! Mine seems to have flown the coop. Maybe there’s a cap on how often you can use it. Maybe it’s a subscription – everything seems to be going that way.
